What if all we have is today? I know it sounds like a cliché! But what if as you wake up every morning all your experience, activities, emotions and memories are completely wiped out like a file totally erased from a computer program, and all you have is the one you have to create today?
What if you have to make new memories every time you start a new day only to get it wiped off every time you go to bed and never to remember anything about who you where the previous day? What will you do differently if you knew your entire existence only depends on the memories you make every 24hours?
What if you are a different person inside your same body every new day? How much will you want to achieve for just one day? how much hard work will you put in only to forget who you were just the last night? How much disdain will you have for the neighbor that upset you or didn't get along yesterday? How much money will you want to amass for yourself and family to be starched up in foreign accounts? How hard will you persuade people to give in to the demands you wont remember anything about tomorrow morning?
How much worry and fear will you have about your loved ones (If you had any) you most probably won't even remember or recognize? How much efforts will you put into telling your electorate lies to make them elect you as a politician if you can't even remember who you where the previous day, or that you ran for
a position at all? What if life is just a 24hours package? would you still hold on to that baggage of grudge, guilt, shame, Fear, Defeat, Worry, Hatred, Anger, Envy, Jealous, Lies, Anxiety?
All these negative emotions are the heavy burden we carry consciously or otherwise simply because we daily project into the future we don't know about leaving behind today we have to enjoy, explore and most of all live. Negative emotions rob us of the joy of today because we fail to live in it. But searching for a future date that is not guaranteed only exist within the burdensome weight of anticipation.
Most people eventually pass away hoping for a better time to live their lives without ever living it. Don't be among such persons, tomorrow is a function of hope being anticipated; and until it comes live in the good memory of your today. Get happy, be kind to everyone, love people, forgive quickly, laugh out loud, visit places, give out a helping hand, smile boldly, fall in love and see the world in the eyes of today. Because in reality you only have today to make yourself happy and the world a better place. Live for today.
