Good Luck, Sydney!

The entire Cairns Stingrays family would like to congratulate Sydney on qualifying for the Commonwealth Trials in Sydney this week.

Friday

We wish Sydney all the very best for the week ahead and can’t wait to follow his results.

Our Leopard swimmers have been putting in the work this week, using different equipment to help develop technique, confidence, and racing skills.

Each lesson combines skill building with plenty of movement, encouragement, and fun races along the way — keeping swimmers engaged while they continue to improve in the water.

Great to see so much effort and progress from all our swimmers!

A huge thank you to our two coaches for taking the time to speak with all of our Junior, Intermediate, and Competitive Swim Team swimmers and parents this morning.

Special thanks to Coach Paddy for such an engaging and insightful talk covering all things swimming — from training, mindset, goals, and development, to what it takes to grow both in and out of the pool.

One of the biggest messages from the morning was that the path you choose now, and the effort you put in now, can lead to amazing opportunities in the future. If you put in the work, stay committed, and trust the process, the results will come. Our National swimmers are proof of that after achieving fantastic results at Nationals this year, and we are incredibly proud to have had one of the largest teams represented at the competition.

It was fantastic to see both parents and swimmers take so much away from the session, and we can’t wait to see all the new thoughts, goals, and actions put into practice as we continue building a strong and supportive swim community together. 🏊

We would like to wish Joanna all the very best as she proudly represents Papua New Guinea at the Oceania Swimming Championships starting today.

The Oceania Championships is one of the major international swimming events in the Oceania region, bringing together athletes from countries across the Pacific including Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and many more.

The event is held every two years and provides swimmers with valuable international racing experience, while also serving as an important pathway toward higher level competitions such as the Commonwealth Games, World Championships and Olympic Games.

We are incredibly proud to see Joanna representing her country on the international stage and know she will do an amazing job. The entire Stingrays family is behind you all the way!

Go Joanna! 🇵🇬🏊‍♀️

Well, that’s a wrap — and what a week it’s been!

We had 10 of our Cairns Stingrays swimmers head down to the Gold Coast to compete at the Swimming Age Nationals Championships, and every single one of them gave it their all in the pool. Racing on the big stage with cameras and the pressure that comes with it is no small feat — but you all stepped up, swam hard, and represented the club with pride. You should be incredibly proud
