Welcome to Term 3!
We are so glad you’re here!
For those who don’t know me, or don’t know me well, my name is Day, and I’m part of the Giggles team.
I’ve been running playgroups for nearly 28 years, have been a mum for over 33 years, and for the last 5 years I’ve had the absolute joy of being a very proud Grammy.
Along with my years of playgroup experience, I’m also a qualified Early Childhood Educator, and I am incredibly passionate about children learning through play.
What may just look like a lovely set up of toys has actually been carefully planned to give your child opportunities to learn while they play. We provide open ended play experiences that encourage children to build confidence, develop their imagination, and practise problem solving, creativity, communication and negotiation skills.
You might also notice that we don’t have many toys with flashing lights and sounds. That’s intentional! While those toys can be fun, they often have only one way to play and can limit a child’s creativity. Open ended resources allow children to imagine, explore and learn in countless different ways.
Children also thrive with routine and clear boundaries, so we’ve created a gentle, predictable flow to our mornings. This helps children know what to expect while still giving them the freedom to explore the activities that interest them most, at their own pace.
The other thing I am deeply passionate about is building community for mums and families. My hope is that through Giggles you’ll find genuine friendships, feel encouraged, and know that you’re not doing this season of life alone.
We’ve intentionally built an amazing team of helpers who aren’t busy caring for their own children during the session, so they can come alongside you. Whether it’s helping settle your little one, chatting over a coffee, or simply offering a listening ear, we’re here to support you.
Between us, our team has a staggering 140+ years of parenting experience! 🤯 Some of our helpers aren’t parents yet, but every one of them has a genuine love for children, a heart for people, and a passion for serving our community.
All of our helpers are part of Suncoast Church, hold current Blue Cards, and have completed Safe Churches child safety training.
Most importantly, we’re here for you.
Whether this is your first visit or you’ve been coming for years, we hope Giggles becomes a place where both you and your child feel welcomed, supported and loved.
