What an incredible weekend at the East Coast Championship for the HHSC crew! 💚💛
24 sailors strong — 18 Optis and 6 ILCAs — took on a massive fleet of 156 boats, completing 9 races across three action packed days on Sydney Harbour.
HHSC was once again right at the pointy end of the leaderboard in both Optis and ILCAs.
ILCA 6
* Zac Howell dominated the overall title 🐐
* Sophie finished 3rd female and 4th overall.
ILCA 4
A highly competitive fleet saw Harper 5th overall and 2nd Female , Ethan finished in the Top 10, despite racing with the original MK1 sail while all those ahead were using the new MK2.
Opti Open
* Luca finished 2nd overall, keeping everyone on edge until the final race with two UFDs hanging over him… never a relaxing moment with this child! 😅
* Tom was another standout, delivering consistency across all three days to secure 4th overall.
* The female title went right down to the wire between Sijia and Emerald, with Sijia holding on in the final day and Emerald finishing a very close 2nd.
Opti Intermediate
The top four sailors finished within just 2 points of each other! Miles placed 4th (same point as 3rd), incredibly close to the overall title. A fantastic effort, Miles — your moment will come very soon. A great reminder that every single point counts.
And what about the 2 Jaspers ! Amazing effort with Jasper C finishing 7th and Jasper R 12th at his first big Interm regatta! 👏
Green Fleet
Our three HHSC Greenies — Matilda, Cassie and Henry — had an absolute blast on the water. Judging by Emma Thomas videos, the HHSC parents may have had even more fun running the Green Fleet start boat! 😂
👏 Finally, this regatta was a huge logistical effort, and the HHSC volunteer spirit was on full display. Our parents stepped up throughout the weekend, supporting WSC across all three days and helping deliver an outstanding event.
Well done sailors, coaches, volunteers and families. Another weekend to be proud of! 📸 .in
