Today, on Cancer Survivors Day, we celebrate everyone who has experienced cancer and the advances in research, prevention and treatment that are helping more people live longer, healthier lives.

As we look to the future, precision prevention is paving the way for a new era of cancer control, helping us better understand individual cancer risk and take action earlier, before cancer develops.

It's more personal, more proactive and more precise.

This World No To***co Day, Cancer Council is shining a light on the use of indirect branding and sponsorships linked to “next-generation” to***co products across high-profile sporting events.

Reducing exposure to to***co and e-cigarette marketing, especially in sport, is critical to preventing uptake among young people and supporting people to quit.

For free, confidential support to quit smoking or va**ng, visit quit.org.au or call Quitline on 13 78 48.

This National Reconciliation Week, we’re reflecting on the responsibility we all share in improving cancer outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Cancer Council, that commitment means taking action, not just talking about it.

We’re continuing to work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities through genuine engagement, co-design, community events and ongoing listening to help shape the way we show up and support people impacted by cancer.

As Monica, who was diagnosed with stage four melanoma in 2020, shared:

“If sharing my story can save even one person, it’s worth it.”

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, All in, reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility. Just as tackling cancer takes all of us.
