Following on from our very exciting visit last week from Dr Laura and Dr Damien the children at WCCC continued to learn about the different Australian wildlife through group times and creating art work that has now been displayed throughout the centre.
A big thank you again to Dr Laura and Dr Damien for taking time to come and share your knowledge and passion with us!

A big thank you to Gema's daughter Isabel for beautifully decorating our QIP letters to go along with our updated QIP (Quality Improvment Plan) display in the foyer. This display includes the 7 quality areas of the National Quality Standard that we follow, along with a photo display of each area. Please check it out and let us know what you think!
If you look closely, Isabel used the colours of our logo to tie it all together.
Jaquie and Isabel are also in talks of a new uniform design!

Today, our staff attended the Little People Big Dreams Conference 2026, themed "Growing Ideas That Matter: Empowering Voices. Shaping Practice."

We had the opportunity to engage in a variety of learning activities, participate in different sessions, and hear from inspiring guest speakers. It was a valuable day of learning, sharing ideas, and gaining new insights to strengthen our practice in early childhood education.❤️

We had an incredible afternoon today celebrating Australian Wildlife Week 🐊✨

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our very special guest speakers:
Dr. Laura Ruykys (Senior Threatened Fauna Scientist, Flora and Fauna Division, NT Government) and Dr. Damien Stanioch (Senior Wildlife Ranger, NT Parks and Wildlife Commission, NT Government)

Our children were absolutely fascinated learning about Australian native animals! They got to see and experience up-close:
🐍 Carpet Python & a Children's Python
🦎 A Blue-tongued Lizard
🐊 A Crocodile skull
🦅 Taxidermied native birds, including a Magpie Goose and Green Pygmy Goose

It was a fantastic session that brought science, conservation, and curiosity to life for our little learners! Thank you to all the parents and families who joined us today for this special event. 💚

💛R U OK? Day 💛
Today, our children engaged in meaningful discussions and creative activities centered around feelings, empathy, and checking in on one another.
Through yellow handprint hearts, emotion cut-outs, and "Kindness Heart Paintings," the children explored different feelings—learning to feel happy, sad, tired, or anywhere in between, and how important it is to ask: "Are you OK?"
