Are you aged 12 to 17 and looking to make new friends, learn valuable life skills, and be part of something meaningful?

The St John Academy is an exciting program that helps young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, learn first aid, participate in community service, and create lifelong friendships in a fun and supportive environment.

On Wednesday 19th August we were joined by members of Gingin West Bush Fire Brigade at our training session. We often seek the assistance of the brigade at serious incidents we attend. Brigade members were also able to practice their first aid skills, particularly skills which may benefit them on the fire ground. It was a great evening and a good example on inter agency cooperation.

St John Ambulance at Woodridge is a volunteer-run subcentre. We have up to date equipment, but we are always seeking local people to join our team. If you can spare a couple of days a month and are interested in serving your community, give us a call on 0475 953 914 or email [email protected] to find out more. Full training and uniform provided.

What an incredible weekend for our Woodridge Youth Academy team at State Camp! 💚

Over the weekend, our Academy members put everything they've been learning into practice during a competition-style day, responding to realistic emergency scenarios that tested their clinical skills, teamwork, communication, and decision-making under pressure.

We're incredibly proud to announce that Woodridge Youth Academy was crowned the Overall State Competition Champion! 🏆 This achievement is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and dedication shown by every member of the team.

A special congratulations also goes to Amelia, who was named the Individual State Champion for her outstanding performance throughout the competition. What an amazing accomplishment!

Beyond the competition, State Camp provided opportunities to build lasting friendships, grow in confidence, and develop valuable life skills that will stay with our young people for years to come.

Congratulations to every member of the Woodridge Youth Academy. You represented your Academy with professionalism, teamwork, and pride, and we couldn't be prouder of what you've achieved. Well done! 💚👏

🚑 We were extremely pleased to have Mel Gardiner from STORC attend our Training night at Woodrige Subcentre where she gave an informative and important lecture on Emergency Childbirth and checking out the new birthing kits we carry on our ambulances.

STORC is a dedicated team of Midwives with extensive knowledge who are ready to assist all of our road crews 24 hours a day.

This gave the volunteers a sense of support and knowledge. Mels talk was engaging and made the subject easier to understand with her sense of humour.

Thank you to Mel Gardiner and our CP Donelle Kinnon for making this happen! 👶🚑
