πŸ“£ Child Safe Communities of Practice

We're delighted to share news of the Child Safe Communities of Practice, delivered by Act for Kids with the support of the Queensland Government. As our sector embeds the Child Safe Standards and responds to the commencement of the Reportable Conduct Scheme, initiatives like this offer OSHC services a valuable space to learn alongside peers, share practice wisdom, and build confidence in creating genuinely child safe organisations.

We deeply value the Queensland Government's investment in supporting the sector through this significant period of reform; it reflects a shared commitment to ensuring every child in OSHC is safe, heard, and able to thrive. We encourage services to get involved, and you can find more information on the Act for Kids website: https://www.actforkids.com.au/childsafecops/

Happy OSHC Educators Day! Today we celebrate the educators who make OSHC such a special place, and the lasting impact you have on the lives of children and young people.

Over the past few weeks, service leaders from across Queensland have shared stories recognising the incredible educators in their teams. While every story was unique, common themes shone through.

⭐️ Educators who create safe, welcoming environments where every child feels they belong.
⭐️ Educators who listen with patience, respond with empathy and help children navigate big emotions with kindness.
⭐️ Educators who champion children's voices, encourage independence and empower children to shape their own experiences.
⭐️ Educators who celebrate diversity, honour children's cultures and languages, and build inclusive communities where everyone feels valued.
⭐️ Educators who inspire confidence, nurture resilience and recognise each child's strengths and potential.
⭐️ Educators who support one another, lead with generosity, and go above and beyond for their teams, children and families

To every OSHC educator, whether you're welcoming children before school, creating memorable afternoons, leading exciting Vacation Care adventures, supporting families, mentoring colleagues, or simply being the calm, caring adult a child needs, we say thank you!

Please join us in the comments by giving a shout-out to an educator who has made a difference in your service πŸ’™
