📚 QCAN Reconciliation Book Club

We are very excited to announce the launch of a new reconciliation initiative at QCAN: our very own virtual book club! The QCAN Reconciliation Book Club is open to all staff from QCAN member services, and will meet online once per term.

📆 Save the date for Friday 24th July (Week 2, Term 3) where we’ll discuss our first book “Dark Emu” by Bruce Pascoe.

We understand all too well that life (and OSHC!) happens, so please don’t be discouraged if you’re unable to finish the book by this date; all are welcome to join the conversation regardless 😊

✨ All Grades:
• 🏉 AFL workshop (incursion) – kick off the year Aussie-style with AFL Queensland teaching awesome footy skills.
• 🎊 DIY confetti cannons – craft your very own burst of colour to celebrate the new year!
• 📝 New Year’s Resolutions Challenge – share your 2026 goal and add it to our WKC display.
• 😎 2026 “sunnies”, design your own cool New Year sunglasses and celebrate in style.
🌟 Little Fireworks (Prep–Grade 2):
• 🌈 Glowstick dance party – light up the room and ring in the new year with a glowing indoor dance party!

We were honoured to be part of the OSHC Uplift Learning Event hosted by QCAN on 15 November at Redlynch OSHC. Educators from across the Cairns region came together and it turned into a truly wonderful day. 😊

Dr Saurubh Malviya was grateful for the chance to run his sessions on Self-Awareness and Emotional Wellbeing for Educators. The openness of the Cairns teams and the conversations throughout the day made the whole experience special for us. We always love to visit Cairns and we can’t wait to be there again soon!
