A little shout out to some very special people doing incredible things for animals. ❤️

Many of you will know our friends at Kindly Sanctuary in Armidale, NSW. Over the years, Naomi and the team have opened their hearts, their paddocks and their lives to so many animals in need — including many of our own Companion Cows rescue cows, who today are safe, loved and living the lives they always deserved because Kindly said yes when they needed somewhere to land.

Running a sanctuary is never easy. The work is relentless, the costs never stop, and the animals always come first. Right now, like many sanctuaries across Australia, Kindly are doing it tough. The ongoing drought, rising feed costs and the challenges that come with caring for so many animals through winter are placing enormous pressure on the sanctuary.

If you’ve ever smiled at a photo of a rescued cow, cheered on a sanctuary animal’s second chance, or simply believe animals deserve kindness and compassion, we would love you to support Kindly Sanctuary if you’re in a position to do so.

Whether it’s a donation, sharing their posts, following their page or simply helping spread the word, every bit of support makes a difference.

We are so grateful for everything Naomi and the Kindly team have done for animals, including so many of ours. They are the definition of compassion in action.

Please give them a follow and, if you can, consider making a donation to help them continue their lifesaving work. ❤️

Thank you, Kindly, for being a safe place for animals who have nowhere else to go

Elvis and Fergus are two of the most recent boys rehomed through our Assisted Rehoming Program — a program designed to keep cows safe when life circumstances change.

Not every animal we help comes directly from the dairy industry. Sometimes, they are deeply loved pet cows who were rescued years earlier by kind humans who stepped in when no one else would. Humans who bottle-fed them through the night, nursed them through sickness, loved them fiercely, and gave them a chance at life.

That was Elvis and Fergus. 💚🌈

Their first guardian saved them after an incredibly difficult start to life, nursing them back from almost death and loving them for years. But last year, after her circumstances changed, she reached out to us for help to ensure the boys would remain safe and protected for the rest of their lives.

Finding safe homes for large animals is never easy. Particularly cows. When circumstances suddenly change, these animals can become incredibly vulnerable to falling into the wrong hands. That’s why our Assisted Rehoming Program exists — to make sure Companion Cow owners/guardians have the support and resources they need to keep their animals safe.

After many months of searching, we finally found the perfect home.

Today, Elvis and Fergus now live on over 100 beautiful acres in Southern Tasmania with Mahalia, Tim and Chris, who absolutely adore them. The boys settled in almost immediately and now spend their days doing what every cow deserves — grazing peacefully, receiving endless scratches, treats, love and kindness. We receive regular updates from Mahalia, and seeing these gentle giants so relaxed, safe and cherished means more than we can explain. 🥰

We are so deeply grateful to every person who opens their heart and home to animals like Elvis and Fergus. Whether for a short chapter or a lifetime, every guardian who chooses compassion changes the entire trajectory of these animals’ lives.

Thank you Mahalia, Tim and Chris for giving these beautiful boys the future they deserve. 🤍

Last Friday was ‘happily ever after day’ for Tex, Patches and Moose (aka adoption day) 🥰😍🌈🐄🐄🐄

A bittersweet one for our Director, Krystal—who rescued them, cared and loved them through those fragile first weeks.

Saying goodbye never gets easier.

But this… this is the part that makes it all worth it. 🥹🥹

Watching them step off the trailer, unsure at first, then slowly taking in their new world…

And seeing Mel and Paul—their new adopted human parents—waiting for them, with so much love already there. 🐄🌈🥰

Happy tears, relief and deep, overwhelming sense of this is why we do what we do. 🥹

Because just 5 weeks ago, these boys were unwanted, unseen and waiting in a pen for a fate they didn’t deserve. 😔

And now… they’re home. 🌈🌈🌈

Safe. Loved. Free to live out their lives exactly as they should have from the very beginning.

THANK YOU, Mel and Paul, for opening your hearts and your home to them. We could not have found a more loving and safe home for our boys.

And thank you to every single person who supports this work—you’re part of every happy ending we get to witness.

We love you Tex, Moose and Patch.

Most people don’t realise just how much calves drink…🐄🍼

These little buggers have massive appetites.

Our day starts with the sound of bellowing baby bovine at 6am for their first feed 😩🤦🏽‍♀️.

They receive 3 litres each (that’s 12 litres gone before most people have had their coffee)

By the end of the day, each calf will drink 6 litres.
That’s 24 litres a day for the four of them.

They will need milk and calf muesli for the first 12 weeks of their lives… that adds up to:

– 2,016 litres of milk
– Around 12–13 full bathtubs 🛁
– 168kg of milk formula
– 240kg of calf muesli

And the part that never sits right with us—

These babies should be with their mums.
Drinking the milk nature intended for them.

Not drinking ultra-processed formula from an artificial feeder.

But because of the demand for dairy, they were taken from their mothers within hours of being born and cast aside to be slaughtered.

While we wish things were different for them and they were safe with their mothers, we are grateful they are now safe in our care, and despite the forced 6am early starts each morning, they are so worth it. 🥹

A big thank you to everyone who has donated so far—
You’re helping us give these boys the life they deserve.

3 weeks since we saved them from slaughter.

They were less than a few days old.
Had barely even recovered from their birth, and from being taken from their mothers.

Tiny. Vulnerable.
And yet to the system they were born into — they were nothing.

Not worth the effort. Not considered.
Their suffering didn’t count.

And that’s the part we will NEVER understand.

Because loving them is so easy.
There is nothing in this world — no money, no convenience — that could ever justify taking a life like this.

We will never accept it.
And we will never stop fighting to change it.

3 weeks on the safe side 💚🌈🐄

There are moments after rescue we wish more people could see.
Not the big, dramatic ones — but the quiet, tender moments that say so much.

The first time a cow takes a treat from your hand.
The first time they sits with you in the paddock.
The moment they places their head in your lap and drifts off to sleep.

Moments like this still surprise people.
Even farmers.

Because we are so rarely invited to see cows as they really are — soft, gentle, trusting, and capable of so much more than most people realise.

Not because they are different.
But because they were finally given the chance to be seen for who they are.

Donate today to give more cows this chance. Even a few dollars can help us give other cows the safety, love and life they have always deserved.

Over 400,000.

That’s how many newborn dairy calves are slaughtered every single year in Australia — many at just a few days old.

We exist to change that.
Our rescue work depends on how many safe, loving forever homes we can find.

When you adopt a calf or companion cow, you’re not just giving them a second chance at life — you’re making space for us to save the next one. Every adoption opens the door for another life to be spared.

💚 If you live in NSW or Tasmania, have 5+ acres of pasture, and want to be part of this life-saving work — we’d love to hear from you.

🚨 Urgent Homes Needed – Flood-Rescued Calves Ready for Adoption 🚨

📍 Mid North Coast

Meet Kiwi, Birdie, Oreo, Mabel, River & Howie 🐮💛

These calves were rescued from the Mid North Coast floods — fragile, frightened, and facing an uncertain future. Thanks to months of dedicated foster care, they’ve not only survived but thrived. Now, they’re ready for the next chapter: a loving forever home.

✔️ Hand-raised & affectionate (they’ll follow you like big puppy dogs!)
✔️ Desexed & disbudded
✔️ Fully weaned & healthy

Because cows are deeply social animals, they must be adopted in minimum pairs — ensuring they’ll always have a friend by their side.

🌿 Adoption is strictly as Companion Cows only — not for breeding, meat, selling, or slaughter.

💛 These calves have already overcome so much. Please help us give them the safe, happy future they deserve.
