IFIS is a non-profit community organisation that is funded by the University. IFIS aims to help you settle into life in Wollongong, to have fun, make friends and to interact with members of the local Illawarra community. IFIS holds regular meetings to discuss its objectives and activities. International students can provide a valuable contribution to the Committee by attending these meetings and t
aking part in the decision-making process. IFIS activities include:
* Regular meetings where international students, members of the local Illawarra community and University staff to plan activities
* A range of low cost sightseeing trips to places of interest such as the Blue Mountains, Canberra and the Snowy Mountains
* Orientation activities such as welcome lunches and tours of Wollongong for international students
* International Student dinners/events with members of the local Illawarra community and University staff
* Links with Wollongong community groups covering a range of interests
*English conversation groups held in session for international students and their partners
* Free Social Events and Activities
