Hi there friends of the garden, just an update. We won’t be having a working bee this weekend. Kell and family have all been a bit run down and it’s Father’s Day, so we are taking this weekend off. See you first weekend of October!

Thanks to the beautiful people who came today! Was a pretty chill day of planting seedlings, finding frogs and clearing the space around the old shed.

The star of the day was really the pizzas … made on site and cooked in our pizza oven. So fancy we even grated truffles over them 😱😋

It’s nice to have a slower day in the garden with wonderful humans. See you all again soon!

Can’t wait to see our ever growing oat grass shoots when we return to the garden on Sunday for our July working bee!

We will be building a no dig bee around the pizza oven area so it’s a great way to learn the lasagne method of creating nutrient dense, water regaining garden beds!

Can you believe it’s that time again??? Oh boy that last month went so quick which means it’s that time again.

Time to get in the garden. We will be building a no dig garden bed this Sunday, aiming to bring some herb loving goodness to the pizza oven area.

Bring the fam, some water, some gloves and a vegetarian plate to share. See you there??

This is what we will be planting as a cover crop at this Sunday’s working bee ... not only will this cover crop be an incredibly restorative crop for our beautiful garden, it will bring us medicine in the summer.

Avena Sativa or oatstraw is one of the nourishing herbs in the wise women tradition of healing. One of the plants drank as a daily infusion to replenish nutrients in the body, ease anxiety, soothe the nervous system and help you to feel more grounded but still able to move and flow with the beauty and challenges of life.

We make more potent tinctures for anxiety and depression from the milky oat tops. Something I haven’t been able to source in Australia without ordering from overseas. So I am very excited to grow this as a medicinal cover crop which will preserve our good weeding work and nourish our bodies and the earth!!!

Are you coming to our working bee this Sunday??? We are also hoping to build a no dog garden bed and make the pizza oven area look pretty wonderful!

We meet at the big gate of Wollonong PCYC on Ajax Avenue North Wollongong at 9:30am. Bring a plate of vegetarian food to share.

Hi folks... our winter working bee is set for Sunday 4th June. We will be weeding, mulching, planting some cover crops that can be turned into medicine once they mature (Oats and Red Clover). We are also hoping to make a no-dog garden bed and plant a few herbs (if anyone has any seedlings or plants they would like to donate please bring them along and/or reach out).

Please bring along:

🌿 Hats and gardening gloves
🌿 Water for yourself and anyone attending with you
🌿 A vegetarian plate to share
