Real stories have the power to change lives. 💙

For much of his life, Thomas lived with constant infections, hospital visits, and unanswered questions before finally receiving a diagnosis of Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID).

Today, with weekly SCIg treatment, careful planning, and the support of his family, Thomas continues to pursue his passions, volunteer with the Rural Fire Service, and make a difference in the immunodeficiency community.

“Do what you can, when you can. Even the small things matter.”

Thomas’ story is a powerful reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, access to treatment, and never giving up on finding answers.

Supporting the Supporters

Carers play an incredibly important role in the lives of people living with immunodeficiency - but carers also need support.

The IDFA Circle of Support program connects carers with other carers who understand the hospital visits, treatment routines, and emotional challenges that can come with supporting a loved one.

Having someone who understands the journey can make a real difference.

If you're caring for someone with immunodeficiency and would like to speak with another carer who has walked a similar path, Circle of Support is here for you.

Find out how to connect with a peer mentor today: https://www.idfa.org.au/community/circle-of-support/sign-up-for-circle-of-support/
