Mission Report: Veritas Gospel Annual Church Leaders Event
Murang’a County, Kenya – 21st to 24th August 2025
Introduction
We are grateful to report that the Veritas Gospel Annual Church Leaders Event held from 21st to 24th August 2025 was a remarkable success. For four days, pastors, leaders, and believers from across the region gathered in unity to seek God’s truth, receive sound teaching, and be equipped to serve their churches and communities.
Our theme this year focused on the urgent call to return to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Lord faithfully confirmed His Word through teaching, fellowship, and prayer.
Key Observations
During the sessions, several critical realities stood out:
1. Overuse of the Old Testament for Manipulation
We observed that many pastors are heavily preaching Old Testament texts out of context, often using them as tools to demand money and sacrifices from congregants for blessings and breakthroughs that Christ has already paid for on the Cross. This practice continues to place heavy burdens on God’s people rather than leading them into the freedom of the Gospel.
2. The Need for the True Gospel
It is clear that Africa does not need more churches, there are already too many. What is lacking is discipleship and the preaching of the uncorrupted Gospel of Christ crucified. The prosperity and commercialized gospel is spreading fast, reducing churches into businesses and members into customers. Only the true Gospel can break this cycle.
3. A Call to Raise Servant Leaders
We are deeply convicted that the next generation of church leaders must be equipped as servants of Christ, not merchants of the Gospel. This is the gap Veritas Gospel is stepping into; to train, disciple, and restore the focus of African churches back to Christ alone.
Impact of the Event
Over the four days, hundreds of pastors and leaders were trained and challenged to re-examine their preaching and practices in light of Scripture.
Many leaders publicly confessed their need to return to Christ-centered preaching rather than commercialized messages.
Young emerging leaders expressed a renewed desire to serve the church with humility and truth.
The Way Forward
The success of this event has reinforced our vision and mission:
To re-establish the Gospel of Christ crucified across Africa.
To equip pastors and leaders with tools for discipleship and biblical teaching.
To stand against the commercialization of the Gospel by raising leaders who serve, not sell.
A Call for Partnership
We cannot do this work alone. The field is ready, and the urgency is undeniable. We are calling on you—our partners, friends, and fellow believers—to continue standing with us in:
Prayer: that God would strengthen and protect this movement of truth.
Support: through your financial partnership, enabling us to reach more leaders, expand training, and publish resources that disciple churches.
Advocacy: by sharing our vision and encouraging others to join in this mission.
Together, we can ensure that the next generation inherits a church that proclaims Christ crucified and risen, not a commercialized religion.
Closing
We thank God for the success of this year’s Annual Event, and we thank you—our partners—for making it possible. The journey ahead is great, but with Christ and with your continued support, we believe Africa will once again be reached with the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
