Even when you’re shopping online, you can show your ❤ for local businesses.

It’s now more common than not for businesses to have an online store. If you can choose and order in your own time, arrange to collect at a time that best suits you, and support a local business too, why would you wait for delivery?

Got a gift to get? 🎁 Did you know you can double your generosity when you get your gift from a social benefit business? And triple it when it’s a local, social enterprise?

Here’s just a few locals offering some ‘triple treat’ gifting options:

Greenacres Disability Services: check out Greenacres ‘Imagine’ gift boxes
Ngiilay Gift Boxes: purchases its hamper goodies from Aboriginal businesses
Green Connect: gift a vegetable box, or a tree sponsorship

Social enterprises are organisations and businesses working to address issues of disadvantage, such as unemployment, or social exclusion. They work towards goals that benefit the public or community, and reinvest profits and other resources to support their mission.

Our city is home to outstanding examples of these social benefit businesses. Think local first and show them the love when you have a gift to give ❤❤❤

Sleigh your last-minute Christmas shopping by going local ❤️

With just a few days until Santa arrives, there’s plenty of options in Wollongong to find something special.

For the collector in your life, Prized Pieces has a range of collectibles and memorabilia.

It's a business that’s grown from side hustle to a fully stocked shop. Owner Matthew shares a little of his business story:

“Originally operating out of plastic tubs in my home garage I built up a large following on eBay and Facebook. At the end of 2019 I built a new studio in the backyard so I could expand the range of products I sold and began operating in a shop-like environment where regular customers could browse our items. At the start of 2022 we took another large step and moved into a much larger warehouse and for the first time, were able to open direct to the public. This has allowed us to further expand our product range, so you can find the perfect item, whether you are a collector or as a gift for a loved one.”
