Our local Lions were proud to lend a hand with the Good Friday Appeal, assisting with the important task of money counting. Every dollar helps make a difference!

To top off a great day, there was a raffle—and one of our own members even walked away a winner.

The 2026 Good Friday Appeal raised a record-breaking $25,268,485 for The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. This record surpassed the previous year's total, highlighting significant community support despite cost-of-living challenges.

A huge effort by everyone involved—well done to all and wishing everyone a most Happy Easter.

The Wodonga Lions were proud to assist with parking at the AWDCC Car Show – “Out Of The Shed” at the Wodonga Racecourse and Exhibition Centre.
With a fantastic turnout of cars and visitors, our team was on hand bright and early helping guide vehicles, keep things moving smoothly, and make sure everyone could enjoy the day stress-free.
It was great to see such strong community support for an awesome event celebrating car culture and local passion.
A big thanks to the AWDCC and organisers for having us involved!

The Club was honoured to attend a function at Albury Wodonga Health today where two new pieces of paediatric equipment purchased by funds raised by the Good Friday appeal were unveiled. These were a paediatric EchoCardiogram which is a safe, painless ultrasound of the heart that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time, moving images of the heart's structures, chambers, and valves, and a Neonatal Transport Cot provides safe, affordable & manageable transfer solutions for neonatal or newborn children.

Pictured is Michelle Wyatt, OAM CSM, who attended our meeting on 8 September.

Michelle is the current President of Albury Legacy Club, and provided a very informative insight into the services that Legacy provide to the members and families of the Australian Defense Forces.

Services provided include Carer Compassion, Social Inclusion, Social Support, Advocacy on Financial services, and act as a referral agency to support all Legatees.

The Albury branch currently supports 58 Legatees with over 317 beneficiaries, with an annual spend of over $83,000 in our wider regional community.

This is all provided by volunteer supporters, and generous community donations, with NO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT.

The Lions Club of Wodonga thanks Michelle Wyatt OAM CSM, and all Legacy Clubs and volunteers throughout Australia for their service, and look forward to providing much needed assistance.
