❤️ RREd Day + Introducing the ICPA Winton 2026/2027 Executive Team ❤️

Today we celebrate the importance of Rural & Remote Education (RREd Day) and the opportunities education creates for children across our rural communities.

For not only Winton, but rural and remote families everywhere, education can look a little different. From isolated school rooms decorated with personalised artwork, to distance education clusters connecting children with far-away friends, boarding school, and limited access to schooling options. ICPA works to ensure rural and remote children have the support and opportunities they deserve, no matter where they live.

Education is more than just a classroom.

We’re also excited to introduce our 2026/2027 ICPA Winton Executive Team!

A huge thank you to our outgoing Treasurer, Amy Squire, for the time, energy and passion you have contributed to ICPA Winton.

We’re looking forward to another year of supporting Winton families, advocating for rural and remote education, connecting with our community, and continuing the important work of ICPA. ❤️

We would like to sincerely thank the following sponsors for their support of our inaugural sports camp. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and commitment in providing funds, coaches and resources to our event.

The Cathedral School: Coaches for basketball + donating all their coaching equipment to our community.
Townsville Grammar School: Coaches for Touch Football + providing breakfast for all participants and their families on day 2
All Souls St Gabriels: coaches for Hockey
Winton Shire Council: Providing the sporting facilities, cold room + BBQ trailer
Winton Diamantina Devils: Providing integral funding thanks to their donation from the funds raised at the Ladies Day Jersey Auction

And that's a wrap on our first ever sports camp!
55 attendees + 6 sports = 2 jam packed days of fun. From Basketball to Hockey and everything in between our kids enjoyed participating in a range of sports, making new friends and learning new skills.

A massive thank you to our sponsors, coaches and volunteers - this would not have been possible without your support.

This is just the beginning... See you all next year!
