A heartfelt thank you and farewell to our friends at Carbon Group.

Since 2023, Carbon has been one of our in-kind partners, providing our team with expert bookkeeping, payroll, and finance services.

Their support meant our team could focus on what matters most, getting the van out on time, every single day, fully stocked and ready to serve coffee, connection and kindness at each stop.

To the Carbon team: thank you for supporting our daily service for those in need. We’re so grateful for the years of partnership and wish you all the very best in this next chapter.

You’ve truly been an integral part of our story.

We recently joined the Footprints Community West End Hub Coffee Catch-Up for the first time!

We’ll now be attending on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, and our first service on Wednesday, 27 May, was a wonderful morning.

The Coffee Catch-Up provides a safe and welcoming space for older women experiencing or who have experienced housing stress, offering connection, support, and access to helpful community resources.

In true Coffee Brigade style, we arrived in the van with tea, coffee, sandwiches, homemade muffins, as well as On Track Meals hygiene packs and beanies to share.

It was lovely to see women connecting over coffee, muffins, and conversation in such a warm and supportive environment.

We’re grateful to be part of such a meaningful community initiative and look forward to many more catch-ups ahead.

Winter has arrived, and thanks to some generous members of our community, we’ve been providing our friends with extra support.

The other week, Tracey collected all these donations and brought them to HQ.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kath for the soft and cosy beanies in a fabulous range of colours, they were very well received.

And to the Gumtrees and all our wonderful donors who helped take our pantry from sparse to overflowing, along with countless items of warm clothing and bedding too.

While we’ll always be here every day with coffee, sandwiches and conversation, it’s the pantry and essential item donations that help us continue to support our friends throughout the day.

Thank you, Tracey, Kath, Gumtrees, and every individual who helped keep our friends a little warmer and cared for this season.

Last month, we joined Homeless Connect, a welcoming, family-friendly event for people who may be experiencing homelessness or housing stress.

From the Coffee Brigade van, the morning was a steady rhythm of sharing sandwiches, pouring coffee, and familiar faces dropping by for a chat. Many of our friends were also there, including Harry, Ashley, Melissa, Matt, and Trevor.

We also shared our custom hygiene packs, made possible with the support of the Lady Bowen Trust and On Track Meals. Each pack is filled with essential items such as tissues, sanitary items, deodorant, a toothbrush, and toothpaste.

More than anything, the day was a reminder of what happens when a community shows up together. With organisations like Footprints and OneBridge nurses there too, it was a space filled with care in different forms, all working together to support our community.

Did you know our volunteer shifts all start early in the morning, with many volunteers joining us before work, uni, or study for the day?

The other week, Alyssa and Celina were in HQ baking homemade muffins that were very well received by our friends. 🧁

Alyssa first began volunteering with Coffee Brigade through her school, and now that she’s at university, she reached out wanting to continue helping our friends. Alongside Celina, the two have now committed to fortnightly muffin shifts, as well as sandwich shifts when possible.

Thank you both for giving your time, energy, and care to the community.

If you’re interested in learning more about our volunteer shifts, comment “VOLUNTEER” and we’ll send you the link.

Waking up early for the gym can be hard. Waking up early for great company and giving back? Easy. 🥪

Last week, Serve the City International joined us during National Volunteer Week, bringing good energy, great people, and serious sandwich skills.

For those who don’t know, Serve the City is a global movement of volunteers showing kindness in practical ways to people in need.

We’re very grateful for their ongoing commitment to volunteering alongside us.

If you’d like to join us sometime, comment “VOLUNTEER” and we’ll send you more information.

Mark your calendars 📅 Monday 20th July 2026, 5:30pm

Join us for The Art of Community: An Evening with Coffee Brigade, taking place during the Brisbane Rotary Art Show at Central Plaza One in Brisbane CBD.

This year, the Rotary Club of Brisbane High-Rise is raising funds for Coffee Brigade and Youngcare through the Brisbane Rotary Art Show.

On 20th July, we’re hosting a free community evening. It’s a chance to connect, enjoy some light refreshments (think tea, juice and finger sandwiches), and take in the art with the opportunity to find a piece you love to take home.

Registration is free but essential: https://forms.gle/w2XMh7nNJwZkUfjD8

We’ll be sharing more details in the coming weeks, and we hope you can join us.

One thing we’ve always strongly believed in at Coffee Brigade is the power of working together to support those in need.

Last week, OneBridge nurses followed alongside our van, meeting us at each stop to provide healthcare and mental health support to our friends.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing how valuable this extra support was.

A big thank you to the OneBridge nurses for helping us extend care and support to our friends in need across Brisbane.

We’re held up every day by over 300+ volunteers who quietly make it all possible. This National Volunteer Week, we sat down with two of them, Jane and Greg.

They both shared what volunteering at Coffee Brigade means to them.

For Jane, it’s the sense of purpose in showing up, giving back, and gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges people in our community are facing.

For Greg, it’s the connection, the appreciation, and being able to help provide a coffee, a sandwich, and a chat.

To all our volunteers, thank you for the time and care you give each morning. We couldn’t do this without you.

If you’d like to join Jane and Greg as a volunteer, comment “VOLUNTEER” and we’ll send you more information.

Every single volunteer plays an essential role in what we do, and we’re incredibly grateful for each person who shows up and contributes to this community. 💙

Our 2025 Volunteer of the Year award recognises someone who has gone above and beyond in their commitment to our friends.

We’re proud to recognise Brett for the care, consistency, and support he brings to every shift.

If you see Brett on your next volunteer shift, please join us in congratulating him.
