Rehearsal #4 for the year and things are taking shape.

We began mapping out our set list for our upcoming short performance at the Accordion Society of Australia - Victoria branch World Accordion Day celebrations.

Warm-ups were anything but routine, with technical exercises layered with some fun improvisation.

From the repertoire, we worked on The Harry Lime Theme (Anton Karas) and La Cumparsita (Gerardo Matos Rodríguez), which are really starting to hit their stride.

Rehearsal #3: Just a few rehearsals into the year and we're really starting to hum. We spent some time fine‑tuning the Harry Lime Theme (Anton Karas) before turning our attention to the iconic tango La cumparsita (Gerardo Matos Rodríguez).

We’ve been steadily working on this one across our parts and tackling some of its more complex sections - and we’re definitely getting there!

Rehearsal #2 wrap‑up! 🎶Another great night together at the German Club Tivoli! We warmed up with some technical exercises before some focus time on a few of our repertoire favourites from around the world:

And we are back! After a well‑earned break, the Prahran Accordion Band returned to rehearsals this week with plenty of gusto.

To welcome in 2026, we warmed up fingers and brains with scales and chords topped with improvisation fun, before putting plenty of fibre into a spotlight rehearsal on some much‑loved repertoire favourites.

🎼 The Third Man (Harry Lime Theme) by Anton Karas had everyone leaning into its unmistakable atmosphere, while Padam Padam by Norbert Glanzberg brought out the passion and drama that make this music so special. It was a fantastic way to reconnect, refocus, and remind ourselves why we love playing and learning together.
