Winchelsea SES is a volunteer unit which operates under Vic SES- the control agency for Flood, Storm, Earthquake, Tsunami and Landslide.

At SES we also provide the largest road crash rescue network in Victoria.

Over the weekend we had 5 of our members (from left to right) Heath,Tim,Lewis,Terry and Jorja do their safe working at heights system course.

Both teams had an absolute blast and we thank Geelong office for hosting us over the weekend!

Our volunteers responded to a tree down incident early this morning. Crews worked quickly to make the area safe and clear the roadway to ensure the community could continue travelling safely.

A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers for answering the call before sunrise and helping keep our community safe.

Big congratulations to two of our SES members (Jorja first picture 3rd from right and Phil 2nd from the right) on successfully completing their Chainsaw Operations Course 👏🪚

We’d also like to congratulate another member Tim on completing their Crew Leader Course — a fantastic achievement and an important step in leadership within the unit 👏

We have two more who can now operate stop/slow signs (plus a few other tricks 😜). Tim and Lewis completed their traffic management course this weekend at South Barwon Unit. Well done guys! 🚧

Back to training after our unit took the last two months ‘off.’ And by off we mean fires 🔥, floods 💦 , rescues 🛟 and everything in between 💡 🚁 . It sure has been a busy summer season so far!

Good to be back all together though, sharpening our skills and sharing stories from the last few months.
