🌱 Bushfire Recovery ❤️‍🩹

The primary aims of the Country Fire Service (CFS) are to protect life, property, and environment from unplanned fires and other emergencies while supporting resilient communities.

Part of protecting country and supporting community is recovery from unplanned fire.

Willunga CFS members are thrilled to see the work of our neighbours, friends, and colleagues in the aftermath of the unplanned fires on the Fleurieu Peninsula in the 2025-26 fire danger season: thank you for your community service!

Following the Deep Creek and Nangkita-Tooperang bushfires in the Fleurieu Peninsula, conservation teams are working to support threatened species and restore impacted habitats across the region 🌱

Our flag is flying at half mast in honour of long-serving brigade member, Nigel Nilsen.

Over his 30 years of dedicated service, Nigel held multiple roles within the brigade and made a significant contribution to our community. His commitment, leadership and friendship will be remembered by all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Our thoughts are with Nigel’s family and friends during this difficult time.

COMMUNITY HELP wanted.
A visitor to our community last Friday was tailgated along Brookman Road from Top Range Feeds store to around Bevan Road. When the driver turned up a side road, the tailgater did a u-turn and drove up to ram the car. The driver was shocked. The car is severely damaged.
The police advise they need either camera evidence or someone's dash cam to pursue the matter.
This happened between 1.20-1.30pm- the car was rammed at 1.28pm.
The alleged vehicle is a white GU Patrol Ute turbo diesel. Unfortunately due to the driver being in shock, the number plate details were not taken.

Lightly used desk chair free to good home out the front of Willunga CFS Station. Hasn’t been rained on. Yet.

As we head into winter, this is a timely reminder for everyone to take extra care on our roads. Rain, fog and reduced visibility can quickly create dangerous driving conditions.

Victor Harbor Road in particular is a known trouble spot, so please slow down, leave extra distance between vehicles and drive to the conditions.

Fortunately there were no major injuries from this morning’s incident.

Stay safe and look out for each other on the roads. 🚒
