Jawbone Marine Sanctuary Care Group Established in 2008, Jawbone Marine Sanctuary Marine Care Group (JMSC) is a community volunteer group concerned with Jawbone Marine Sanctuary.

Established in partnership with Parks Victoria in 2008, Jawbone Marine Sanctuary Care Group (JMSC) is a community volunteer group concerned with Jawbone Marine Sanctuary. Jawbone Marine Sanctuary protects a unique ecosystem of mangroves and saltmarsh considered unusual for their growth amongst basalt rocks. The Marine flora and fauna are also significant as a scientific reference, having been prot

ected for 110 years during the operation of the Merrett Rifle Range. The intertidal areas and coastal vegetation provide important habitat for migratory and local seabirds and shorebirds. he sanctuary's tranquillity and wide variety of coastal habitats are enjoyed and cherished by the local community and visitors. The strong maritime history of Williamstown is evident through remnant shipwrecks in the sanctuary waters. The care of Jawbone Marine Sanctuary is not a task for the government alone, nor only for those who live on the coast. It is a task for the whole Victorian community. Movie night this Wednesday 24th September.
We are presenting the movie White Rocks that focuses on the Great Southern Reef, over abundant sea urchins and how they are being managed. See the trailer here:
