🫶This weeks training looked a little different as we took an opportunity offered to us by the local Volunteer Marine Rescue to engage with their new cadet program .

⛑️We met with the young team along with our two Community Paramedics and simulated some potential challenges they may encounter during Marine Rescues .

🤝The cadets and our crew covered the following medical emergencies and how to face them as first responders

🦈 Shark Bites and 🚤Propeller Strikes (major haemorrhaging)

🐙🪼 Bites and Stings (aquatic based)

🦴🩻 Breaks and Dislocations

🥶 Hypothermia

🥵 Heat Stress

🌊On the water , emergencies can occur very quickly and the way we respond to them is essential to patient recovery.

❤️‍🩹 So great to have a team of young local boating enthusiasts who are keen to learn about marine rescue and assist those in need .
