A Year in the Making
Long before the Royal Adelaide Show gates open, SACWA members across South Australia are already preparing.
For almost a year, talented hands have been sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, cooking and preserving—all in readiness for the SACWA Makers Market.
Every handmade item and carefully filled jar represents hours of work, traditional skills, creativity and pride. Many of these skills have been passed from one generation to the next and are now being lovingly shared with Show visitors.

The members of the South Australian Country Women's Assoc (SACWA) Whyalla Norrie Branch have been busy recently with activities within the branch and in the public. One of those activities was when members assisted our President, Colleen Pattingale, presented the SACWA Baby Project Parcels to Janine, the Manager of the Birthing Unit at the Whyalla Hospital for use of new mothers. Our branch meets each Tuesday morning from 10am at the Guide Hall, Rozee Street. For any enquiries call Colleen on 0428 374 344.

Our President, Colleen Pattingale, presented Chris Barsby, of the Whyalla Public Library, with the George the Farmer bookset donated by members of the South Australian Country Women's Assoc (SACWA) Whyalla Norrie Branch. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10.00 at the Guide Hall, Rozee Street. For any enquiries ring 0494 135 229. Ladies of all ages are welcome.

At a recent meeting of the SACWA ( South Australian Country Women's Assoc.) Whyalla Norrie Branch, members learnt about the acti cities of the MFS in Whyalla from Kim Hallam a nd Emily Savaidis. A very interesting and informative morning for us all and most appreciated by our members. Our members meet each Tuesday morning at the Guide Hall in Rozee Street from 10.00am. ☕ Volunteers Needed for the SACWA Country Café ☕
Every year, hundreds of visitors enjoy the warm hospitality, home-style cooking and famous scones served by our dedicated volunteers at the Royal Adelaide Show.
We are now seeking volunteers to assist both during our pre-show preparations and throughout the Show itself. Whether you are a current member, former member, family member or simply someone who enjoys being part of a friendly community team, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, support an important fundraiser for The South Australian Country Women's Association Inc., and help showcase the work we do across South Australia.
No experience is necessary — just a willingness to lend a hand and enjoy being part of a great team.
