The Northern Centre

The Northern Centre The Northern Centre provides various free early intervention support services to at-risk families and individuals in the Northern Sydney area.

The Northern Centre (previously Ryde Family Services) provides a range of placed based, early intervention support services to vulnerable children, young people, families and adults of all ages who are experiencing a range of life stressors. Services provided are free and delivered by qualified staff and include counselling, case management, housing support, supported playgroup, domestic violence

outreach service, parenting and skills development programs and support groups. The Northern Centre is involved in several integrated community hub models and operates projects throughout the year providing targeted support to identified cohorts. The Northern Centre is a public benevolent institution and an incorporated entity and is endorsed to access the tax concessions and is endorsed as a Deductable Gift Recipient. Its activities are regulated by relevant State and Commonwealth legislation, and the northern centre Constitution and is governed by an elected voluntary Board.

Resolve difficult behaviour in teenagers

Only a few Spots remaining. REGISTER NOW❗

Over 3 sessions, parents/carers will be provided with practical tips to prepare for tough conversations with young people.

🔴 Maintain open communication.
🔵Build a relationship with your teenager and foster safe independence.
🟠Parents/carers will learn to better understand adolescents and appreciate what are reasonable expectations to hold.

The program works towards giving parents/carers a renewed sense of confidence about the role they can play in their teenagers’ lives.

아이는 작은 어른이 아닙니다. 많은 부모님들이 설명하고 설득하면 아이가 행동을 바꿀 거라고 기대하지만, 실제로는 그렇지 않죠. 아이는 문제를 일으키려는 게 아니라, 그저 아이답게 반응하는 것뿐입니다.
그렇다면 어떻게 해야 아이를 올바르게 훈육하고, 아이와의 관계를 지켜낼 수 있을까요?

There are only a few spots remaining in our upcoming DADS&bubs playgroup!

Held on a Saturday morning over 8 weeks, our DADS&bubs playgroup provides opportunities for Dads/carers and their children (0 – 5 years old) to explore the importance of play, build on their parenting skills and enable Dads/carers to expand and develop their social networks with one another.

The program also includes a dad’s only seminar and a family excursion 🚂.

At The Northern Centre, we offer services to assist clients in achieving housing stability across the Northern Sydney District.

We understand the emotional stress losing your home can cause and we offer a wrap-around case management service.

Our aim is to work with individuals and families to remain within their current home or to help them seek and secure new accommodation.

Who do we work with?
🏠 single men and women
🏠 young people and families

📍The local government areas we cover for Housing services include Ryde, Hunters Hill, Epping, Lane Cove, Willoughby, North Sydney, Mosman and Ku-Ring-Gai.

We do not provide emergency accommodation.
