The authentic relationships we build with families means that when support is really needed, we can really help šŸŽ—šŸ’”

Thanks to our incredible friends at Commonwealth Bank we are able to offer the most special weekend of connection for those families in our community who face the heartbreaking loss of a child to cancer or a blood disorder.

Support is there for every family in our community, no matter the passing of time.

Peer support...being around others who really understand, those who you just don't need to explain yourself to, can be incredibly comforting and healing.

The KCSG Bereaved Families Retreat is an opportunity for families to organically get to know other families while still holding their own privacy and space to grieve. It's a place for children who have lost a sibling to connect and build lasting friendships. It's a place for organic conversations, laughter when it's needed most, to find a shoulder to cry on and take time to connect with nature and your child's memory.

It's a place for gentle recovery with others who 'get it'.

This year we are so happy once again to be nestled in the heart of Yallingup at the beautiful Discovery Parks & Resorts Taunton Farm.

For 3 nights families will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves in activities, self care, or simply curling up in their cabin or going for a walk or family time alone.

The beautiful thing about this retreat is that there are no expectations, no pressure to engage, no need to explain. It's run by those who have been where you are, it's attended by those who really understand.

Expressions of interest for bereaved families in our KCSG community will soon be open. Please keep an eye out.

If you can make it we'd love to see you, but please know we are here to support you through grief and loss every day of the year and every moment you take another step with your child in your heart instead of your arms šŸ’•

Thank you Commonwealth Bank...for your generosity, compassion for community, and for making this very special event possible for the families who need it mostšŸŽ—šŸ’›

Friday June 5 - National Donut Day! šŸ©

…and when we think of donuts this sweet little man is all we see šŸ˜

This delicious day originated in the United States in 1938 to honour the "Donut Lassies" of The Salvation Army.

These heroic women served sweet treats and coffee to American and Allied soldiers on the front lines during World War I to boost morale.

With it’s origins in the spirit of lifting morale and reaching out a hand to those who need it most, which is at the heart of all we do here at Kids Cancer Support Group, we’ve delivered a very special treat to the kids cancer and blood disorder ward at Perth Children’s Hospital šŸ©šŸ˜

Thanks to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for bringing sweet melt in the mouth moments to families in treatment šŸŽ—ļø

If you’re on ward today these beautiful donuts have been donated, with a ton of love, by Pam, Brad, Jackson and especially Callum from our community to brighten your day ā¤ļø

Callum we love that you’re still creating beaming smiles wherever your Sunshine touches.

Thank you Pam and family for thinking of others on the toughest of days x

Family sits at the heart of everything we do.

This National Families Week, we’re reminded that behind every childhood cancer journey is a family navigating it together, parents, siblings, grandparents, each carrying their own challenges, fears and strength.

For more than 40 years, Kids Cancer Support Group has stood beside these families, creating a community built on lived experience, understanding and connection. Because when a child is diagnosed, it impacts the whole family and no one should have to face that alone.

Through peer support, practical assistance, and safe spaces to connect, we’re here to ensure families feel supported, not just in the hospital, but every step of the way.

This week, we celebrate the strength, resilience and love of every family walking this path and the power of community that surrounds them.

Because families supporting families is where true healing begins.

This team of huge hearted individuals continues to show up for our community and make such an impact for children facing the toughest of times šŸļøšŸ›µšŸŽ—ļøšŸ™Œ

Thank you MundAl 1000 - Postie bike Challenge crew, and to every business, organisation and individual who supported you.

Your impact is immeasurable.

Your compassion for our community deeply felt.

Last night Richard Nell, KCSG President, and some inspiring dads who’ve walked this childhood cancer road, met up to kickstart planning for this year’s ride.

Richard was absolutely honoured and grateful to receive a cheque for their incredible efforts last year.

This year, with your help, the Mundal1000 team (including some dads from our community!) wants to smash this total and offer every child and family in our community the vital support they need…and with the commitment and passion behind this fundraiser, with the heartfelt support of their sponsors and support network, we have absolutely no doubt they’ll achieve that goal!

Thanks Mundal1000 team!!

What a difference you’ve made for our community šŸŽ—ļøšŸ™Œ

We need your support.

Kai’s Big GOLD Ball is back and this year, it will be bigger than ever.

Held in memory of Kai, this special evening is in honour of every child diagnosed with cancer and the families who walk this journey alongside them.

As we prepare for this very special event, we’re calling on our community, businesses and partners to come on board and be part of something truly meaningful.

We are currently seeking sponsors and partners who want to help us create an unforgettable night while making a real difference for families across Western Australia.

Your support will directly contribute to the services and programs that wrap around families during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

If you’d like to be involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Navigating the world of childhood cancer can at times feel overwhelming and confusing.

Redkite offers extensive and invaluable resources to families and their support communities when a child is diagnosed with cancer.

This includes information for families, friends, schools and community.

It’s a tough road that sadly there is no roadmap for…but it’s not a road you need to walk alone šŸŽ—ļøā¤ļø

Conversations about survivorship, improving outcomes for children and families…it all starts here šŸŽ—ļø

Yesterday the Children's Cancer CoLab forum led the way in putting survivorship on the map.

Redkite are doing incredible work in this space and we’re so proud to work alongside them so children and families are able to access the support they deserve.

Providing hope and advocacy for us all šŸŽ—ļø

Our community is just so proud of Professor Nick Gottardo, our beloved ā€˜Dr Nick’

Being a finalist in the West Australian of the year Awards is no mean feat and such a deserved honour.

In a room full of incredible, inspirational people who make a significant difference to our WA community you can’t help but be proud to be West Australian.

Sadly, this wasn’t Professor Nicks year but sometimes the biggest award is knowing those you support think you’re already a winner!

ā€˜Dr Nick’ is so grateful for your support and love.

Kids Cancer Support Group were so proud to stand beside him in that room., representing our childhood cancer community. You were all there with us and we will be passing all your messages on to him.

Somehow…which won’t surprise you all…his smile shone all night!

Congratulations to all the winners, such incredibly deserving individuals making a real difference in this state and throughout the world.

See you next year ’Dr Nick’…

Good luck’Dr Nick’!! Professor Nick Gottardo
