Today is World Mental Health Day.

Mental health affects so many of us, whether it's something we're experiencing ourselves or through someone we know.

We recently sat down with Brendan Pawsey, Executive Director, Mental Health & Wellbeing at Mercy Health Services, to talk about mental health in our community, the importance of reaching out and how we can better support one another.

One of Brendan's messages really stood out to us:

Be curious. Be caring. Be kind.

Sometimes, it's as simple as checking in, having a conversation or helping someone find the support they need.

It's also one of the reasons why this year's Outwest Concrete Wyndham RETRO Motor Show means so much to us.

We're bringing our community together on Sunday 15 November to raise funds for mental health services at Werribee Mercy Hospital and across the City of Wyndham.

Because looking after our mental health, and each other, matters.

If you or someone you know needs support:

Lifeline: 13 11 14
Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636
Your GP can also be a good place to start.

You can find information about local mental health services through Mercy Health: https://health-services.mercyhealth.com.au/our-health-services/mental-health-and-wellbeing-services-south-west-metro/

Together, let's keep the conversation going. Not just today, but every day.

💬 Why is mental health such an important focus for our community right now?

We asked Brendan Pawsey, Executive Director Mental Health & Wellbeing at Mercy Health Services, to share his perspective.

Brendan talks about how widely mental health affects individuals and families, and why having the right services, infrastructure and community support matters.

He also reminds us that supporting mental health isn’t only about knowing how to help someone else, it’s about knowing how to look after our own health and wellbeing too.

It’s conversations like these that remind us why coming together as a community matters.

This November, the Outwest Concrete Wyndham RETRO Motor Show will bring people from across Wyndham together for a great day out, while helping raise funds for mental health services in our local community.

We hope you’ll join us and be part of it. 💙
