We are thrilled to announce the lineup of panellists for the networking event on December 28th.

Each panellist brings unique and compelling experiences. From Khadra’s admirable entrepreneurial endeavours while balancing the challenges of nursing, to Dr Mohamed’s impressive research in forensic psychology and criminology, focusing on culturally and linguistically diverse populations, to Radhia, a recent graduate of the University of Melbourne with a Master of Public Policy and Management. Radhia is particularly interested in understanding how the environment influences the social determinants of health within marginalized communities.

Each panellist offers transferable professional and interpersonal skills that attendees can apply in their careers.

On October 25th, we held an important event about cancer awareness and prevention, featuring Somali health professionals. The community was eager to learn, asked questions, and shared their experiences with cancer.

It was clear that many people in the room had loved ones affected by cancer, highlighting the need for ongoing education in our community. The SHP team is committed to raising awareness and providing support to the Somali community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! Together, we can make a difference.

Cancer Awareness Event

We're hosting an event to empower young Somali Australians in bridging generational health gaps, with a focus on cancer prevention and early diagnosis.

Organised by Somali Healthcare Professionals, the event aims to provide crucial health education, helping youth take control of their own wellbeing and support their loved ones. Attendees will also have the chance to network with healthcare professionals, gaining insights and building connections to foster long-term health awareness and prevention.
