On tonight in Footscray - Data Centres and AI Hype - Share Your Opinion at an Open Mic

Have something to say about the impact of AI and data centres on our environment, communities or future?

This open mic is an opportunity for anyone in the community to share their perspectives on one of Australia's fastest-growing industries and the choices we face as AI infrastructure expands.

Whether you choose to present (scan the QR code below & register on humanitix by 10 August) or listen (register on humanitix), join us for an evening of sharing concerns and aspirations for Australia's digital future.

Contributions might include research, personal stories, or creative works like songs (we have a piano!) or poetry.

Where consent is provided, presentations will be professionally photographed and transcribed for potential inclusion in the Federal Parliamentary Inquiry into AI Data Centres, ensuring community voices help inform national decision-making.

Our market also features a cafe with pastries, dutch pancake van, sausage sizzle, kids activities and more than 20 stalls by local craftspersons and makers, and a stall to support our local Men's and Women's Shed. We've got indoor options with lots of parking, and the market will go ahead rain, hail or shine! (but the weather is looking okay)
