Sydney Veterans Lodge

Sydney Veterans Lodge The Sydney Veterans Lodge is a social hub for the modern veteran , drop in for a chat Far too many have fallen in this way to ignore such an obvious cause.

The Sydney Veterans Lodge was founded by a group of veterans and supporters who could see the need to create a place where veterans can go, to be amongst comrades and those who truly understand the struggles a returned soldier faces. The Sydney Veterans Lodge aims, whilst in creation and upon completion, to be a destination for veterans as a go to for social gatherings with comrades, in addition a

temporary accommodation for returned veterans for times in need. Our main aim, is to instil family first and fore-mostly and camaraderie within the returned soldiers life, to encourage a healthy return from service. Far too many returned soldiers, live on a daily basis, with the effects of PTSD. This organisation aims to support those veterans who are at risk, and to help prevent the unacceptable percentage of our returned soldiers who suffer this affliction and fall victim to depression, and in its extreme, su***de. In January 2017, a property was secured at Wentworthville for this very cause. Whilst this property was quite dilapidated at the time and required work, and still does, with regular working bees, we have come a long way (we encourage you to see our "Watch Video" of our journey so far. This journey through this work is as much therapeutic as is our destination, our end goal. Working together as a unit and the bonds that have been formed along the way are fulfilling and life long. Take a look at our photos on this page, the results are there for all to see. The Sydney Veterans Lodge is supported by a dedicated group that has, right from the get go, donated funds, time and their labour through working bees. These working bees are rewarded at the end of the day with a BBQ, good company and a few cold beers. Many of our supporters have donated materials and fund raising efforts to help us reach our goal; The Grey Gum Cafe, Infidel Social MC, Master Bathrooms & Kitchens, Kass Electrical, A T Plumbworks, Stockwell Building Supplies to name a few. The Sydney Veterans Lodge is available 24/7 to all veterans. To gain access to the premises, registration is required. If you are interested in registering with our organisation, contact us via this page or through our webpage. Please note, we do encourage family involvement, as to aid the veteran and their family. Whilst the lodge at this present time of writing, is nowhere near a playground for children, we aspire to make this lodge "Family Friendly", with a goal to hold upon completion, "Family Days". We hope this story explains our mission and encourage all who are interested, be Veterans or Supporters, to come down and visit us at the lodge, we will be there most Saturdays working away, or contact us via this page, web page or email [email protected], we would love to hear from you. Take a look at our photos and our "Watch Video" button to see what we are really about.
