Two years in the planning, and then the Tri-District Conference is all over in a flash! Thank you to all the members of the planning committee for all your work over that time, and the people who worked all weekend to make sure everything ran smoothly - stage managers, Audio-visual coordinator, MCs, sergeants, photographer ... time now for a well-earned rest!

Our club had a fantastic time during Day 1 of the Rotary Tri-District Conference 2026

President‑Elect Kim jumped in as part of the Sargent’s team, members soaked up inspiring sessions, and we wrapped it all up with a lively dinner alongside friends from Rotary Club of Wynnum & Manly and Rotary Club of Maleny. Some even hit the dance floor during the Boogie Wonderland gala ball.

Last week I had the opportunity to speak at Rotary Wellington Point about tinnitus management and communication strategies for people who are hard of hearing.

We explored how tinnitus can affect concentration, sleep, and overall quality of life, along with practical ways to manage symptoms and reduce its impact day to day.

We also discussed simple communication strategies to make conversations easier, reduce listening effort, and support clearer interactions in social settings.

It’s always encouraging to see community groups engaging in conversations about hearing health.

If you’ve noticed ringing in your ears or difficulty keeping up in conversations, it’s worth having it checked.
