✨ THIS ONE IS HUGE — CALLIE IS GOING HOME! ✨

This isn’t just a massive adoption for CAPS.
For Callie, this is her chance at freedom. ❤️

Callie has been in CAPS care since March 2023, and what a journey it has been.

Because of the trauma in her past, Callie has always been one of our higher-needs dogs. She needs patience, understanding, consistency and someone willing to take the time to earn her trust. Understandably, that has made finding the right home so much harder.

Thankfully, Callie has had incredibly committed long-term foster care, allowing her to remain outside the shelter environment and giving her the stability she has needed while we waited for that special person to come along.

And finally… Callie found her diamond. 💎

All the way in Tasmania.

Someone chose her.

Someone looked beyond her challenges and saw her potential.

Someone is prepared to give her the one-on-one attention, patience and commitment she deserves.

To Callie’s new family — thank you for choosing her. Thank you for seeing the beautiful dog behind her past and for being willing to give her the future we have spent more than three years hoping she would find.

We could not be more grateful. ❤️

Tomorrow, Callie begins the biggest journey of her life as she sets off all the way to Tasmania to start her next chapter.

After more than three years in care, our beautiful girl is finally getting her chance.

Our beautiful boys **Jones & Geko have officially found their forever homes!** 🥹

What started as foster homes turned into something so much more… and we couldn’t be happier for these two gorgeous boys. Sometimes they find exactly where they were meant to be. ❤️

Thank you for opening your homes and hearts to them and giving them the happily ever after they deserve.

As CAPS is a **predominantly volunteer-based organisation**, our site isn't always staffed outside of our scheduled opening sessions.

🐾 PLEASE GIVE AN OFFICIAL WARM WELCOME TO OUR FIVE NEWEST LITTLE CHERUBS 🐾

🤍 Scout — our little white boy
🖤 Ranger — our little black boy
🤎 Summit — our little tan boy
🤎 Indie — our tan girl with the gorgeous black muzzle
🤍🤎 Aspen — our beautiful white and tan girl

While the start of life has not been easy for these five little souls, they are now safe, warm, fed and surrounded by people who are determined to give them the fresh start they deserve. ❤️‍🩹

Today they are seeing the vets for health checks and vaccinations, and tomorrow Summit, Indie and Aspen will head off to their foster homes to begin the next stage of their recovery. 🏡💕

Our two smallest boys, Scout and Ranger, are the runts of the litter and are still looking for stable foster care.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has offered to care for them for a few nights, over the weekend or during the school holidays. Every offer to help means so much to us. ❤️

However, given what these little ones have already been through, we really want to avoid moving them between multiple homes. Right now, they need consistency, routine and longer-term stability so they have the opportunity to decompress, learn that they are safe and simply enjoy being puppies.

🐾 Scout & Ranger still need their foster home.

CAPS will provide the support and supplies needed — what we need from you is a safe, loving and stable place for these two little boys to continue their recovery.

🐾 4 WEEKS TO SETTLE IN ❤️

Bringing a new furry family member home is exciting — but it can also be a big adjustment for both you and your new pet.

That’s why all CAPS adoptions have a 4-week cooling off period. 🏡

Four weeks gives your new pet time to:
🐾 Get used to their new home and routine
❤️ Build trust and confidence with their new family
😴 Rest, decompress and feel safe
🐶 Let their personality start to shine
🤝 Give everyone time to learn about each other

Remember, your new dog may not be exactly the same at home as they were at the shelter. They may be nervous, quiet, excitable or unsure at first — and that's okay!

Give them time. Give them patience. Give them a chance.

And remember, you're not on your own. ❤️ Our CAPS team is here to support our adopting families throughout the settling-in period.

Sometimes the beginning is a little messy, but with patience and understanding, it can grow into something pretty special.

Four weeks can make all the difference in creating a happy, lifelong match. 🐾
