Asian Aid Australia We want to help all kids reach their God-given potential. At Asian Aid, we believe in children and in empowerment.

We place the wellbeing of deserving children in in India, Nepal and Bangladesh at the core of all that we do. We empower disadvantaged children to grow strong for life in families and communities that can support them. We equip children and their communities with the skills and resources they need to break the cycle of poverty. We also believe in hope: hope in the present and in people’s abilities to transcend their circumstances when help is available; hope in the power of quality education, free health care, freedom from danger, strong families and communities, and ultimately hope for the future. Together with governments, churches, and implementing partners, Asian Aid is committed to being Christ-like, caring, compassionate, responsible, ethical, prudent and passionate. Asian Aid is a registered charity and a member of the Australian Council For International Development (ACFID) Code of Conduct. Some of the last words Paul shared with elders in Ephesus are captured in Acts 20:35. He knows he is going to be imprisoned and shares they wouldn't be seeing him again. When put in this context, there is an urgency in his words. Paul had spent years working hard with the people of Ephesus by this time to establish something that would last, that could provide help and hope for those in need, and spread the message of Jesus.

The work we are all often called to do is hard, but is also an immense blessing. Happy Sabbath, and may you have the opportunity to give to someone!

This beautiful picture and "field note" were sent in from Jo, one of our team members who has been visiting partners and schools in Bangladesh : "Every village school visit has been a favourite, but today was truly something special! An impactful day spent in Bangladesh, seeing first-hand the difference supporters’ kindness and generosity and partners' hard work are making in people’s lives. From dancing in a room full of excited children and skipping together, to home and community visits filled with beautiful hospitality, there was so much to experience. Goats, sheep, ducks, vegetable gardens, self-help groups, courtyard meetings ... and countless moments of connection and hope."

Hearts are full. Travel safe team. 🥰

Today is International Day of Sign Languages, a day to celebrate, protect, and support diverse cultures and linguistics of sign language users around the world, just look at the difference between Auslan and Indian Sign Language! The clips from classrooms at our special school in India shows students learning and some subtle differences teachers make to accommodate, beautiful! 🥰👏

Joan Marshall is a former nurse and a health care advocate for women and children. Amazingly, she’s supported Asian Aid for 60 years! One of her favourite stories from this time has been her sponsorship of Anju, who was able to attend school and later graduate and become a nurse herself. 🥰

We're still working our way through Kerryn's six lessons over six decades, and here is number four! "Things once overlooked can become treasures." In the late 90s, the schools for deaf and blind students became a highlight of Asian Aid’s work; children who were once overlooked now had opportunities to truly shine and thrive.
