💙 NATIONAL CARERS WEEK – CELEBRATING OUR UNSUNG HEROES 💙

At ADRA Community Connect Wauchope – SouperVan, we want to take a moment this National Carers Week to recognise and thank the incredible unpaid carers in our community. 💐

❤️ To the parents caring for children with disabilities.

❤️ To the husbands and wives supporting their partners through illness or disability.

❤️ To the adult children caring for ageing parents.

❤️ To the grandparents, siblings, friends and neighbours who quietly give so much of themselves to care for others.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we thank you. 💕

Caring is an act of love, but it can also be physically exhausting, emotionally draining and sometimes incredibly lonely.

Behind every caring role are often sleepless nights, endless appointments, paperwork, advocacy, financial pressures and personal sacrifices that others may never see.

This year’s message, “Care for a carer: Making carers visible,” reminds us that carers need care and support too.

🌷 Sometimes the greatest gift we can give a carer isn’t just saying thank you. It’s offering practical help, a listening ear, a meal, a little respite or simply asking, “How are YOU going?”

At SouperVan, we want every carer to know that you are welcome.

🥣 Come and enjoy a warm bowl of soup and a fresh bread roll.

🥕 Take home some fresh fruit, vegetables, bakery items or groceries.

☕ Sit at one of our tables, enjoy some friendly conversation and connect with others in our community.

💙 Or simply come along and allow someone else to look after you for a little while.

You don’t have to be struggling financially to be welcome. Sometimes we all just need a little kindness, friendship and encouragement.

🎨❤️ A Beautiful Gift from Some Very Special Young Artists! ❤️🎨

We were absolutely delighted to receive this amazing artwork from the children of one of the families we support through our SouperVan. 🥰

Their beautiful drawings show our SouperVan in action, and it is so heartwarming to see our little community outreach through the eyes of children! 🚐🍲💕

A huge THANK YOU to these talented young artists for taking the time to create something so special for us.

It’s thoughtful gestures like these that remind us that SouperVan is about so much more than providing food. It’s about friendship, kindness, connection and being part of a caring community. ❤️

Another Wednesday has rolled around, and our team will be at Bain Park from 5:30–7pm, ready to welcome you.

Come down, grab some soup and a bun, have a look through the fresh fruit, veggies, bakery and grocery items, and stay for a chat if you feel like it.

SouperVan is about so much more than food. It’s about people, friendship, connection and looking out for one another. ❤️

We are so grateful for the generosity of everyone who continues to support our SouperVan and the people in our community. Every donation, big or small, helps us provide a little extra for those who come along each week. ❤️
