39 Army Cadet Unit - Watsonia

Today 39ACU was honoured in supporting Epping RSL, Greensborough RSL and Montmerancy-Eltham RSL and the local communities in rememberance services on this ANZAC day.

Well done to all the Cadets that participated, you did the unit and the AAC proud.

Reminder

39ACU will be supporting the following ANZAC Day services.

🟢 Epping RSL Dawn Service. 0530am for a 6.00am start. Should be finished at 0700am.

🟢 Greensborough RSL March & Service. 0800 for a 0845 start. Should be finished at 1015am

🟢 Montmerency - Eltham RSL March & Service.
0915 for 1000am start. Should be finished at 1115am.

Cadets were briefed and provided consent forms on our last parade night of term1 and again last night. Acknowledging the issues with Cadetnet access currently those that can get access can also find activity details under thier "My Activities"

Cadets are to bring their consent forms with them and present to the ACS at each of the activities. .

REMINDER - Activity 14th March.

We have our training day tomorrow 14th March as per our parade card. All Cadets are to be in uniforrm. NEW Recruits to wear neat casual with enclosed footwear.

Recruits - Providing their enrolement fee has been paid will be recieving their uniforms tomorrow.

Simspon Barracks are having an open day. We have made arrangements so cadets and recruits will get an oppertunity to visit the open day display however this is a seperate activity and the training and issuing of uniforms is our priority.

Timings.
Herring Road gate - (Normal entrance/exit parade night)
Open 0800 - 0830am for Drop off.
Open 4.00 - 4.30pm for Pick Up.

ALL cadets are to bring their lunch, snacks and a filled water bottle.

***NOTE***

Tomorrow 14th March as part of the Australian Armys Birthday Defence are opening some of their bases to the public.

SIMPSON Barracks will be open to the public. However this a seperate activity. Any parent, guardian or family member wishing to attend need to go via the Open day event page and book an online ticket. If attending you need to follow all parking and security entry requirments outlined on their event page/e ticket.

Due to security and base management requirements there WILL NOT be any parking or entry provided on base for the open day via our 39ACU activity.

Because of this open day and security requirements our gate opening timings for the 39ACU activity are set and can not be changed.

The Australian Army Cadets have been invited to send cadets to the United Kingdom for the 2026 International Cadet Exchange.

✅ CADET REQUIREMENTS

• Aged 14–17 years (must not turn 18 before or during travel)
• Minimum 12 months service in the cadet program
• Hold or be able to obtain a passport (valid 6 months after travel)
• Meet UK foreign travel vaccination requirements
• Pass pre-selection fitness testing:
– Beep test 5.5 or higher
– 30m swim in AMCU with runners
– 2 minutes treading water
• Parent / guardian permission to apply
