It was great to have Susie, Cheryl and especially Pip (story dog) as guest speakers at our dinner meeting. Story Dogs enables a child and a dog with their handler a weekly one on one reading session held at the child's reading level throughout the course of the school year. The volunteer handler often speaks through the dog, by involving the non- judgemental dog.
Thanks for coming and we loved meeting Pip.

Another visitor at our business meeting was Sari-Elle Kraemer, fresh from her marathon run from Torquay to Warrnambool. Sari-Elle is running the equivalent of 7 marathons in 7 days from Melbourne to Adelaide, finishing at the Lions National Convention in Adelaide. Sari-Elle has recently been appointed Lions Australia Ambassador, this run will raise funds and awareness for Lions Assistance Dogs. Funds raised will support specially trained assistance dogs that help Australians living with medical conditions and disabilities. Including deaf, diabetic alert dogs and autism assistance dogs. The Lions Club of Warrnambool donated $250 to support and recognize Sari run and the important role of Lions Assistance Dogs. If you would like to donate: https:/lions assistancedogs.raiselysite.com/sarielle
Good luck Sari-Elle for the remainder of your run! Did you know that the Lions Club of Warrnambool has supported many assistance dogs in our community, with their currently being five dogs.

It was a busy night at the business meeting of the Lions Club of Warrnambool last night. We welcomed 2nd vice DG Shirley Menz to our meeting to acknowledge and recognize the work conducted by the Lions volunteers for the Lions Eye Health Program. This year the team, led by Lion Sue Amos have volunteered over 500 hours of their time to conduct approximately 1,200 school student eye assessments across 23 public and private schools in Warrnambool and surrounding communities, including Koroit, Pt Fairy and Terang. Congratulations to Lion Sue and the Lions Eye Health Team on your achievements and continuous service to our local school students.
