Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak

Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak The club meets every Wednesday morning starting at 7am. Members and guests enjoy a breakfast while planning fundraising, community service and social events.

Meetings are held most Wednesday mornings starting at 7am are over by 8:30am and we are all invigorated ready for the day following. The meeting venue is the Warrnambool Football Club Cramer Street, Warrnambool, VIC, 3280, Australia.

Today Daybreak welcomed Peter Mills!
Peter told us of his volunteer role as Co-Ordinator of the Red Cross Transport Service available here in South West Victoria!
Transport to and from appointments at several locations is available!
Volunteers drive the vehicles!
All local medical clinics have details of how to access this service!
Volunteers are hidden gems in our community!

Daybreak Rotary Club met at the Mid City this morning.
Our guest speaker,
Rashid Mahmood gave us a brief outline of his life, he was born in Pakistan, and trained as a Dr there. Rashid completed specialist training to become a Gerontolist in London where he lived for 22 years. Rashid came to
Warrnambool 3 years ago where he has started a Gerontology training program. We are very fortunate to have a Gerontology specialist in Warrnambool!

Daybreak Rotary Club welcomed Sharna Rogers to our meeting at the Mid City yesterday morning!
Sharna is a dynamic Youth Advocate and her presentation was very enlightening and informative!
Members hope to work with Sharna in mentoring roles where appropriate!
Sharna enjoys her day to day role as a journalist with Fitzmedia!

Warrnambool Daybreak and Warrnambool East Rotary clubs combined to hold their annual race meeting during May race week!
Guest speaker was Stuart Bishop who shared many memorable stories of his involvement in business in Warrnambool for many years, greyhound racing, Owner of racing horses, strapper of racing horses and interesting situations and scenarios!
Very interesting and enjoyable conversation!
Clubs alternate in hosting this yearly event! It’s been a fun meeting for 27 years!
With some fun money raised this morning will be contributed to the
Australian Rotary Health program, ARH.
It was Daybreaks’ turn to win the perpetual trophy!
Thanks to our Jodie Hill’s expertise with the wooden horse races!

Warrnambool Daybreak recently held their yearly Long Lunch at the Matilda Room, Warrnambool Racecourse!
Funds raised will go mainly to The Crystal Lee Foundation. Paul Williams thanked those present and explained what the Foundation supported. As, advertised the balance will be donated to local projects!
