Last weekend, 3 of the Booval Park Girl Guides made the trip to Melbourne to join the Knoxfield Triple N Guides for an Anzac Day sleepover! The girls participated in the Anzac Day march with Girl Guides Victoria, and spent time making new friends from Knoxfield and around the state, learning new games, experiencing public transport and exploring the Melbourne Museum before making the trip back home on Saturday evening!
This was a huge challenge for these girls, sleeping in a new place with new people, completing the Anzac march (twice!), and getting through a huge, very tiring day! They made their leaders very proud!

On Friday the Guides joined the Warrnambool Fire Brigade, CFA, SES and other community members to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal! The girls all did so well and made their leaders very proud, getting up and in their uniform bright and early (meeting at 7:30am!) and walking alongside the trucks for around 4.5 hours collecting donations from the community for this very worthy cause!
All up we worked out it was around 11km of walking, and we didn’t start getting complaints about tired kids or sore feet until close to the end which was very impressive.
The girls had lots of fun and kept their spirits high, even when they supposedly stopped feeling their feet as a few of them told us…
The Guides were able to help contribute to a grand total of $10313.05 raised by the Warrnambool Trucks, and $36130.15 for all of the fundraising coordinated by the Warrnambool CFA and Fire Brigade which is a wonderful effort!

Come and see what Warrnambool Girl Guides is all about! We are inviting girls ages 5-17 to come and try Guides for a night and join in on our End of Term Easter celebrations on Tuesday 31st of March!
Our unit has capacity for immediate trial/registration for all ages and would love to make some new friends!

Last Tuesday the Booval Park Guides invited some local women to come and speak about their various roles, careers and hobbies!
The Guides spent some time 'breaking the ice' by teaching the guests some of their favourite games (and learning a few new ones!) then sat down hear from each of the visitors, and asked so many great questions! All of our visitors even got to round off their little taste of Guiding by being presented with their very own Thank you badge and card chosen by one of the Guides.

This was a great opportunity for the Guides to make some connections in the community, meet some new female role models, learn about possible career opportunities and hear about and learn from a few different local women's stories and experiences.

We are so thankful for all of our guests who volunteered their time, and the Guides have said that they are all invited to come again another time!

Booval Park Girl Guides starts back for 2026 tomorrow night (February 10th)!
We have space for new Guides (or leaders!) to trial immediately if you or someone you know are interested!
Unit meetings are held at the Warrnambool Guides Hall in Manifold Street, from 6-7:30 on Tuesday Evenings during the school term!

We are a multi-aged unit, open to 5-17 year olds.

On Tuesday the Warrnambool Girl Guides had an International Guiding night! The Guides spent time on a video call with Guides from different parts of Australia and different parts of the world, hearing about their varying experiences of Guiding around the world, as well as getting to ask them questions. We had some great questions and heard stories about badges, activities, camps and other types of events!
The Guides also spent some time writing letters to units in Scotland, England and Wales, and some to the guests that joined the call which we are very excited to post and see if we get any replies!

We want to say a huge thank you to all of our guests who made this possible by setting aside time to join the video call and chat with our Guides, helping them to learn a bit more about the big world of opportunities that comes with Guiding!
