Happy Early Childhood Educator’s Day to my AMAZING Warren Preschool Team! I am grateful daily for each & every educator on my team & am blessed by the way they go above & beyond for the children & families at preschool. The early childhood profession is in good hands at Warren Preschool!

Even though early childhood educators deserve more than a day of thanks, I couldn’t possibly pass up the opportunity to celebrate a sector of professionals that have enriched the lives of so many children and families.
Contrary to some opinions, early childhood education requires highly skilled and highly trained professionals. Just as importantly, they need to be valued as such. Today, whilst a pleasure to sing the praise of an immensely important sector, this day cannot be a set and forget.
Each and every day, educators deserve to work in environments that are safe. Celebratory days have their place, but so does continual advocacy for high quality working conditions.
For those celebrating today, I hope you feel just how appreciated and valued you are, not just today, but every day. For those who aren’t celebrating, please know that you aren’t forgotten. There are many of us who see the value in what you do, who believe in the importance of your work and who will continue to advocate for you and this profession in every way we can.

Don't miss the opportunity to gather at the Beemunnel tonight for Gibaymbi-li: Giving back to our Elders in reverse! 💕

Tickets available at the gate, or 123-Tix (link in Comments). Gates open 6pm - meal and chairs provided. BYO drinks (no alcohol allowed).

"Join us for a powerful immersive experience! A narrative of Wayilwan stories, shared by our young mob through song and dance, Gibaymbi-li celebrates Wayilwan Country. Gibaymbi-li is a Wayilwan word which is translated as 'giving back in return'. We are giving back to our Elders a shared experience to bring us together at The Beemunnel, a special place for our mob. Guest artists Castlereagh Connection and Kelsey Iris will also bring their talent to help us grow together.
While seated around campfires the audience has a multi-sensory experience, enabling them to engage deeply with the stories of our local Elders and cultural knowledge holders. Understandings of Country grow as the audience is immersed in light, sound and imagery. Waterbirds, our waterways and marshes are part of Language and Country. Puppetry and art are also used to share concepts of Country to grow appreciation.
Art by Wayilwan artists reminds the audience of our Wayilwan ancestors as masterful designers. Art featured includes that by Uncle Sooty Welsh and Peter Mackay.
The performance is approximately 75 minutes in duration. A warm camp oven meal is served afterwards.
You will leave with a sense of awe and wonder, knowing you have been a part of something bigger than yourself.
This event is funded by Create NSW - Cultural Access program, NSW Aboriginal Languages Trust - Aboriginal Language Revitalisation program, Aboriginal Children's Advancement Society and Warraan Widji Arts!"

Budjirriwan, our girl band, never disappoint!!

..our groundbreaking performance of Gibaymbi-li (Giving back in return) - program and main meal included!

Our truly amazing, dedicated, WHOLE teaching team travelled to Cobar AFTER work & back yesterday to attend ‘Low Intervention, High Response: positive interactions with the playing child’, presented by Marc Armitage & hosted by Cobar Preschool at the Cobar Golf & Bowling Club. (And they ALL lined up for work at Preschool today! 🌟 Superstars!!! 🌟)

The evening introduced the idea of ‘playwork’, explored the concepts associated with the practice, including the playwork play cycle and the 4 intervention styles within the approach.

One of the most interesting points was that playwork in the UK supports children from 0-19 years in adventure playgrounds. How great that the benefits of play is recognised for that broad age group… we are all for MORE PLAY at Warren Preschool!

And speaking of play… Miss Lisa may have Daffodil Day Dipped in the Bogan on the way home. 🫣

"Play is a process that is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated. That is, children and young people determine and control the content and intent of their play, by following their own instincts, ideas and interests, in their own way for their own reasons." 💕
