2026 Benabilla Auctions Cotton Golf Day Wrap
BUCKLE UP WE NEED TO THANK SOME LEGENDS.
This was record event in terms support from sponsors as well as players on the course. 164 Golfers took to the course at 9.30am on the 20th of March , can't say the same amount finished but it was a cracking day for it, and the course didn't disappoint.
The winners on the day with a hot score of 56 and half second place was on a count back and third place a smidge behind on 56 and 3/4 - doesn't get closer than that.
1st - Sinclair Steele, Arthur Spellson, Brian Otswald and Ben Geiger
2nd - Pat McCutcheon, Ben Larkin, Shay Dhareula, and Joel Hatheral
3rd - Wendy Robinson, Tara Walker, Jamie Boyd, Jason Boyd.
Thanks to our major sponsor Benabilla Auctions for the prizes for the top three teams.
Prizes totalling $4000 were on offer and we seriously can't thank our sponsors enough. Huge list of thank you are incoming - Firstly, Simon Clark and his team behind the bar at the Warren Golf Club - Leanne, Mitch and Philip and Simon kept the refreshments flowing all day, four people must have done their 10K steps for sure.
Next mention is to our amazing poison cart sponsors Cotton grower services Warren and Robert Handsaker ford Narromine. These guys were all over the course all day Sarah, Caine, Laurance and staff from CGS all did amazing jobs CottonInfo's Rochelle Field coordinated the stealth like precision as well as did all the little jobs that needed doing on the day we would have been lost without her.
The MCGA committee did a cracking effort behind the scenes, secretary Nicole Risely does a great job getting our sponsors and players organised. Special mention to Charlie Coles, Mel Swift, Rochelle Field and Georgie Carrigan for all their help. Harry Hailstone stepped up and put out the NTPs on the day as well as came up with some of the ideas for the novelty holes. Ben Thomas, Sinclair Steele and Justin McMillan did a great job on the set up as always.
Big thanks to the Warren Club Captain Chris Moore and Bob Mckay for wading through the minefield of checkins and score card entries and coming up with the winners. Also big thanks to Chris Tilley and Lyn Rawlinson for the pre work in setting it all up.
The Warren Bowlers cooked breaky and lunch all day and did a fantastic job. Breaky was sponsored by Nutrien Ag Solutions Warren and Narromine and the lunch was brought to you by Ecom.
The coffee van from 2823 was greatly appreciated pre tee off and as always provided great service and coffee thanks to Pacific Fertilisers.
The Golf course was in tip top shape and we would like to thank our head green keeper Robert Clark and his team of volunteers not only for this day but for the work they do each week on our course, the improvements are visible every round we play.
This day has great flow on effects in the community that hosts it each year, it is alternated between Warren, Narromine and Trangie Golf clubs each year. It is one of the best fund raisers they have on the calendar in each club.
Thanks to our sponsors we are able to donate $2K each year to each club as well as support local charities and clubs who volunteer for the cooking each year.
It might be the Cotton Industry Golf Day but the whole community comes together and has a great day thanks to our generous sponsors. Tag our sponsors and your mates - here's to the next one at the Narromine Golf Club next year !
Let us know if you prefer the three or four person Ambrose as we are always looking to improve this day for the future years.
