Warragul Acoustic Unplugged

Warragul Acoustic Unplugged The Club meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at the Warragul Senior Citizens from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Always use respectful language with each other.

The Club meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at the Warragul Senior Citizens. When the idea of Acoustic Unplugged was first discussed, we always spoke in terms of people sharing their music, in a welcoming, supportive, friendly way, with no "stars" - just a group of people who love their music and like the idea of coming together to share that. We can now look back and feel that has largely

been the outcome, and we continue to welcome others who share this vision. Our Original Mission

The mission of Warragul Acoustic Unplugged is to provide entertainment and to contribute to the community through music. We promote, present, support and develop acoustic music within our community by providing opportunities for both amateur and professional artists/musicians to perform in a friendly and supportive atmosphere which is inclusive of age, cultures and abilities. Warragul Acoustic Unplugged is a non-profit organization. Our main aim is to promote music of any genre that fits the label "Acoustic" and also poetry, by providing an open stage for performers with support from people with similar interests who share our vision. Who else here experiences this, or is it just me?

Some people experience sudden chills, goosebumps, or a wave of emotion when listening to powerful music. Scientists refer to this phenomenon as Frisson, a brief emotional and physiological response triggered by certain sounds, melodies, or musical moments.

Research suggests that about 50–60% of people experience frisson. It occurs when the brain processes sound and emotion with heightened intensity, particularly in regions linked to reward and emotional processing. During these moments, the brain releases Dopamine, the same chemical associated with pleasure and motivation.

Small musical changes—such as a sudden shift in rhythm, a powerful vocal note, or a dramatic buildup—can trigger this reaction. The brain strongly connects the emotional meaning of the music with auditory signals, creating a powerful sensory experience.
In short, when music gives you chills, it isn’t just about the song itself—it’s about how your brain uniquely responds to sound and emotion.
