North Lake Macquarie Rover Unit are an active group of young people who enjoy a mixture of outdoors activities and intellectual challenges. One week you might find us abseiling, cycling or canoeing, while other occasions we are known to enjoy watching a movie, playing a board game or fiercely competing in trivia. Rovers from ‘North Lakes’ are often seen participating in a range of Regional, State,
National and even International events whether it be service based, or just for having fun. Rovers opens the door to a world of adventure, excitement, challenges, and achievement. Challenging outdoor activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, sailing, caving, ski-touring, canyoning, four-wheel driving, rock-climbing, and scuba diving all form an important part of a Rover’s calendar. Social activities such as balls, bush dances, harbour cruises, nights out, car rallies, and “Moots” (gatherings of Rovers on a local, national, and sometimes international level) also feature on an active Rover’s program.
