WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES!!!

Over the recent school holidays, a crew headed out to our Glengarry campsite to tidy up the Maintenance and Storage Area.

While we would have loved to see more people there, those who did come along certainly made up for it! We ended the day having accomplished more than we originally planned.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who gave up their Saturday to help. A particularly big thank you goes to the fantastic crew of young(er) leaders plus Fabian and his dad from 6th Ipswich, who also came along. Thanks also to those Board Members who made it, plus a few other "odds and sods" who turned up and pitched in. A special shout-out to the regular GEC Working Bee crew (who emptied, moved and sorted through the Historical Centre archive shed once they had finished their usual Working Bee tasks). Thanks to each of you for your hard work and great attitude!

And what a result!!! The Maintenance & Storage Area has been completely transformed. It is now so much cleaner, clearer and easier to access, and it looks absolutely fantastic.

A huge effort from a small but mighty team. Thank you!

Why BB: A Place to Belong

Every boy deserves a place where he’s known, valued, and encouraged.
BB creates community — safe, fun, faith‑filled — where boys discover who they are and who God is calling them to be.

⚓ Sure & Stedfast — belonging that builds identity.

Help a boy find his place. Connect him with a local BB Company today.

📖 “Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self‑controlled…” — Titus 2:2

This verse speaks directly into the heart of Boys’ Brigade leadership and mentoring.

It reminds us that Christian manliness isn’t defined by strength alone — it’s shaped by character, discipline, and the way we carry ourselves in front of those who look up to us.

Temperate.
Respect‑worthy.
Self‑controlled.

These qualities don’t appear overnight. They grow through practice, accountability, and a desire to honour God in every part of life.

In BB, older boys and leaders set the tone.
When they show self‑control, younger boys learn it.
When they live with respect, boys follow.
When they model reverence, discipline, and integrity, they shape the next generation of Sure & Stedfast young men.

⚓ Sure & Stedfast — leading with character that earns respect.

Choose one moment this week to set the tone for someone younger than you — a boy in your Company, your own son, a nephew, or even a younger leader.
Show temperance when you’re frustrated.
Show respect when it would be easier not to.
Show self‑control when emotions run high.

Those small choices preach louder than any parade‑night message.
Lead in a way that makes younger eyes say, “I want to be like that.”

⚪️ Silver Friday Fun — Shine, Strength & Standout Moments

This week we’re celebrating silver — the shine, the sparkle, the sleek moments, and the little things that stood out in your week.

Maybe it was a shiny tool.
Maybe it was a trophy.
Maybe it was a metallic craft, a reflection, or something unexpectedly brilliant.

Why BB: Leadership Starts Young

BB doesn’t wait until boys are “old enough” to lead.

We grow leadership from the ground up — through responsibility, teamwork, and opportunities to step forward with confidence.

⚓ Sure & Stedfast — raising leaders, not spectators.

👉 Call to Action: Give a boy a chance to lead. Invite him to BB and watch confidence grow.
Check out our blog that tells the story of how a chance to lead changed the attitude of two boys. https://bbqld.org.au/letting-boys-lead/

📖 “The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” — Proverbs 20:7

Integrity is one of the strongest foundations a boy — and a man — can build his life on.

In Boys’ Brigade, we teach that self‑respect doesn’t come from achievements or awards, but from living with honesty, consistency, and character.

Walking in integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
It means choosing truth over convenience.

It means living in a way that blesses others — especially the next generation watching us closely.

When boys learn integrity, they learn confidence.

When leaders model integrity, boys follow.

When families encourage integrity, communities grow stronger.

This verse reminds us that a life lived with integrity doesn’t just shape us — it shapes those who come after us.

⚓ Sure & Stedfast — walking in integrity every day.

Choose one area where you can show integrity today — in your words, your choices, or your responsibilities.

Take one intentional step toward honesty and consistency. Integrity grows through practice.
