OUR STUDENTS INSPIRE US - LEADING BY EXAMPLE

"I believe the best way to teach your kids is by living the example you hope they follow." – YPC Student

Leadership comes in many forms.

At Young Parents College, we see it every day in students who are committed to improving their lives and creating brighter futures for their children.

By pursuing education, setting goals, and persevering through challenges, our students demonstrate what determination looks like in action.

Their influence extends far beyond the classroom.

OUR STUDENTS INSPIRE US - THE POWER OF SUPPORT

"With the right support, no young parent has to face their journey alone." – YPC Student

One of the greatest lessons our students teach us is the importance of community.
No one achieves success entirely on their own. Support, encouragement, understanding and opportunity can make all the difference when facing life's challenges.

We're continually inspired by the way our students lean on one another, encourage each other, and celebrate one another's achievements.

When people feel supported, they begin to see what is possible.

BLACKBUTT ADVENTURES & A FOND FAREWELL TO BECKY // Recently, our SLR and CAFS students enjoyed a wonderful day out at Blackbutt Reserve. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, build friendships, and create some great memories together.

We also took the opportunity to celebrate and farewell Becky over lunch as she prepares for her next adventure. While we're sad to see her go, we're so grateful for the impact she's had on our school community and wish her all the very best for the future.

EXPLORING EARLY CHILDHOOD // This term, our Central Coast EEC students wrote and published their very own children’s book as part of an assessment task.

Once they received their physical copies, the students had the special opportunity to sit down with their children and read their stories to them. It was so lovely to see our young parents share something they had created with their little ones, turning an assessment task into a special keepsake and memory for their families.

OUR STUDENTS INSPIRE US - RESILIENCE
"I just kept showing up, even when it was tough."
– YPC Student

Resilience is often talked about in education, but rarely do we see it demonstrated as powerfully as we do by young parents.

Every day, our students balance responsibilities that extend far beyond the classroom. Yet they continue to show up, keep learning, and keep working towards their goals.

Their persistence reminds us that success is not always about big milestones. Sometimes it's simply having the courage to take the next step, even when the path ahead feels difficult.

Their resilience inspires us.

Every Monday, our SLR students head to Planet Fitness as part of their Resistance Training unit.

These sessions provide opportunities to build strength, improve fitness, develop healthy habits and grow confidence in a supportive environment.

We're grateful to Planet Fitness for helping our students engage in practical, real-world learning experiences that support their wellbeing and personal growth.

R U OK? DAY REMINDS US OF SOMETHING IMPORTANT: A CONVERSATION COULD CHANGE A LIFE // For young parents, life can be full of challenges, responsibilities and pressures that others may not always see. That's why checking in with each other matters.
If a friend, family member or fellow parent has been on your mind, take a moment to ask: "How are you coping at the moment?". "You seem to have a lot on your plate. Are you OK?". "Would you like to talk?"
At Young Parents College, we believe nobody should feel like they have to face life's challenges alone. A genuine conversation, a listening ear and ongoing support can make all the difference.
Today, and every day, let's make time to ask the question and really listen to the answer.

EQUIPPING YOUNG PARENTS FOR LIFE // Marla is currently completing work placement at a local café as part of her Retail Services VET course, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a real workplace environment.

From preparing drinks and serving customers to developing communication, teamwork and time management skills, work placement gives our students the opportunity to build confidence and develop practical skills for future employment.

At Young Parents College, we believe learning extends beyond the classroom. Opportunities like these help equip young parents with the skills, experience and confidence they need to achieve their goals and create bright futures for themselves and their families.

Well done, Marla. We're proud to see you embracing every opportunity and growing through real-world learning experiences!
