Pictured here, our developer Insitu Housing is on site bringing these thoughtfully designed homes to life! Soon, these two purpose-built houses will to support six people seeking quality SDA, and we’re proud to be moving one step closer to welcoming future residents.

✨ That's a wrap on our very first Little Chefs Club! ✨

Over the past 8 weeks, we've mixed, measured, chopped, stirred, tasted, laughed, and learned together 👩‍🍳

From trying new foods and building kitchen confidence to making new friends and creating delicious recipes, we have had the best time in our Learning Kitchen at Ashtonfield (Early Links) this term ❤️

We are so proud of how much our little chefs have grown in their cooking skills, teamwork, independence, and willingness to give new things a go. Thank you to all of our amazing families for your support, and to our wonderful little chefs for bringing so much enthusiasm, creativity, and fun to every session.

We can't wait to see what you'll cook next! 🍓🥕🍪🍕✨

🎉 July School Holiday Groups – Kurri Kurri Clinic 🎉
We’re excited to offer two fun and engaging group programs these July school holidays, designed to help children build confidence, connect with others, and learn new skills in a supportive environment.

🧱 Join our Block Builders Group, where children can explore, create, and connect through hands-on building activities. We work together to build exciting structures like towers, bridges, or even whole cities, before exploring ideas through free play. The group supports communication, teamwork, and confidence in a relaxed setting, with a short sharing time at the end to celebrate each child’s creation.
✨ Suitable for children who enjoy hands-on and creative play
✨ Supports social skills, language development, and problem-solving
✨ No experience needed—just bring your imagination!

📅 When: Thursdays 9th and 16 July | 10:00 – 11:30am

🍳 Join our fun Let’s Get Cooking! group and work together with peers to build confidence in the kitchen.
This group provides a supportive and engaging environment where children can explore food and develop practical life skills.

Food exposure in a fun and neutral environment
Language and social skills
Basic kitchen and meal preparation skills
Executive functioning
Activities of Daily Living
Kitchen safety

At ConnectAbility, we’re lucky to have 226 incredible Disability Support Workers across our 23 properties, and today we’re shining the spotlight on one of them ✨

👏 Meet Donna, one of our newer Support Workers who has been part of the ConnectAbility team for the past 12 months. She has four years' experience in the disability sector and brings with her a wealth of experience from the aged care sector. Donna has recently achieved something amazing - completing both a Cert III and Cert IV in Disability Support back-to-back 🙌

“I wanted to share my excitement… It’s been a long 20 months of in-class and remote learning, but it's an achievement I’m happy I’ve completed.”

💬 Donna says what she loves most is: “Giving back and seeing the difference I can make to someone.”

The ConnectAbility Little Chefs Club kids have been busy building confidence and developing practical food skills through a range of hands-on cooking activities.

Over the past two weeks, we've made an assortment of fruit and vegetable smoothies and some delicious beef nachos. Most importantly, these cooking experiences provide opportunities for children to learn about nutrition while developing important life skills such as:
✨ Following instructions
✨ Food preparation and kitchen safety
✨ Fine motor skills
✨ Independence and confidence
✨ Social interaction and teamwork
✨ Exploring and engaging with a variety of foods

Whether it's grating vegetables, blending smoothies, or assembling their own meals, every activity is designed to support positive food experiences in a fun and supportive environment.
We love seeing participants take pride in their creations, develop new skills, and build confidence around food each week. 🌟

🎨✨ Colour us happy this Feel Good Friday!
Some of our Supported Independent Living customers recently joined in the fun at a local colour run, rocking their white outfits (which quickly became a vibrant rainbow!) and soaking up every bright moment 🌈

One of the highlights was connecting with the lovely team at Piggotts Pharmacy Merewether, who gifted everyone colourful wands. 💜

Funds from this special day supported Wheeling & Able, another local charity helping families of children with physical disabilities access equipment, assistive technology and resources for greater independence and wellbeing.

A beautiful reminder that strong community connections can really brighten the day, and our customers had an absolute blast waving their way through all the colour and fun! 🎉
