🌊🦋 This week at playgroup we’re getting crafty with painted handprint butterflies and diving into an ocean-themed sensory table! We’ll have kinetic sand (safety checked against current recalls ✔️), scoops, and plenty of sensory fun for little hands to explore.

We’d also love to grow our volunteer village 💛

If you’ve ever thought about helping out, we’d love to hear from you! Whether it’s organising a one-off activity, helping occasionally, or joining our committee in a small admin role, every little bit helps.

All roles are volunteer and flexible — even as little as an hour a week or a one-off contribution makes a difference. It’s also a fantastic way to build skills, confidence, community connections, and add to your resume while on maternity leave or if you have a little spare time.

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mums, grandmothers, carers, and mother figures who nurture, support, love, and somehow manage to do all the things (often at once 💛).

A very special thank you goes to our amazing committee of volunteer mums. Our committee is made up of women from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life — and yet they come together so beautifully with one shared goal: supporting our playgroup community and creating a welcoming, fun, and safe place for local families.

From behind-the-scenes organising, setting up activities, helping at sessions, problem-solving, fundraising, administration, and everything in between — your time, care, and dedication do not go unnoticed. We are so grateful for the kindness, teamwork, and heart you bring to our village.

To all the mums in our community: we see you, we appreciate you, and we hope today brings you a little extra love and recognition. 💐

We’re having some temporary power issues due to the construction work next door. Playgroup will still be running as usual, but there may be no lights or access to the kettle during the next week or so.
