Australia’s future workforce will increasingly be shaped by artificial intelligence.

For our young people, the challenge is not simply learning how to use AI. It is learning how to use it well, to think critically, solve problems, create value and prepare for a changing world of work.

Parents also need to understand this shift so we can guide our children with confidence, judgement and responsibility.

This school holiday period, Alhidayah Centre, Sayyidina Omar Institute and MOTECHWA are offering two practical community workshops.

For young adults aged 18 to 30

Limited to 16 to 20 participants

Both sessions will focus on practical AI literacy, productive use, critical thinking, privacy, verification and responsible decision-making.

The aim is to help our families and young adults engage with AI as a tool for learning, work and contribution, while retaining human judgement and accountability.

All proceeds support Alhidayah Centre.

AI may assist our reasoning, but it cannot carry our amanah.

There’s something special about gathering before dawn, travelling together with good intentions and standing side by side for Fajr.

Join us this Sunday, 16 August for a community Fajr Drive from Hillarys Boat Harbour to Alhidayah Centre. 🚗

We’ll gather at 4:00am, depart at 4:25am sharp, and make our way to Alhidayah for Fajr, a short tazkirah and light refreshments.

Cars, 4WDs and motorcycles are all welcome.

Alhamdulillah, Beyond the Label concluded this morning at AlHidayah Centre.

The session brought our youth and parents into a reflective conversation on identity, belonging, peer pressure, and the unseen forces shaping the soul.

Feedback from participants was very positive. Many found the session beneficial, well structured, and deeply relevant to the challenges our young people face today.

A special appreciation to Sheikh Yusuf Parker, whose warmth, humour, and wisdom made the session both enjoyable and meaningful. The Great Master was truly at work.

May Allah place barakah in every reflection shared, every question raised, and every young heart seeking clarity in a confusing age.

Beyond the Label: The Architecture of the Halal Soul

Living in Perth is not always simple for our young people.

Every day, they move through choices that are not always obvious. The ingredients on supermarket shelves. The chemical names we do not recognise. The social media feeds that quietly shape how we think, desire, compare, and belong.

But halal living is not only about checking labels.

It is about protecting the heart.

This holiday session at Alhidayah Centre will not be a passive lecture. It will be a structured open mic seminar where our youth are invited to speak honestly, reflect deeply, and listen carefully.

Grounded in the spiritual wisdom of Imam Al-Ghazali’s Bidayatul Hidayah, we will explore how outward choices only become meaningful when the inner self is being purified.

Together, we will unpack:

🛒 The Chemistry of Confusion
Hidden ingredients and chemical terminology in everyday Australian retail products.

📱 The Algorithmic Feed
How digital consumption affects the clarity, focus, and purity of the mind.

👥 The Price of Belonging
Peer pressure, identity, and remaining grounded as Muslims in a secular environment.

Ramadan may be over, but the opportunity to give continues 🤍
