Border Walwa Community

Border Walwa Community Walwa CRC was established in 2020 to facilitate bushfire recovery.

We have since combined resources with the BWFNC to establish an organisation to advocate for our community and create events to promote social engagement and increase community capacity.

When it feels like one thing after another, community matters. 💛

We’re proud to host a free community dinner at the Walwa Hotel for Upper Murray locals impacted by the bushfires — a chance to come together over a meal, connect, and access practical local support.

Great community spirit and generosity from young bods at Scots for those in Tallangatta!

Tallangatta Valley Fire Captain Clint Ried came today to receive a cheque from funds raised by our Year 11 and 12 students.
Earlier this year, our Year 12 cohort hosted a dinner to welcome Year 11 into their final years, using the occasion to raise funds in support of a community affected by the recent Walwa bushfires.
After a devastating bushfire season that left the Tallangatta Valley without power or communication at critical moments, these funds will go directly toward improving the brigade’s communication capabilities.
A wonderful effort by our students for a truly important cause.
