A fire brigade is never quiet. Even if we are not responding to a call for assistance there is plenty going on in the background.

Over the holidays we have been busy with a few callouts and being on standby for a strike team for Omeo fires. Lots of administrative tasks and of course some great training sessions.

If you’re looking for an organization to put some time and energy into. Get in contact and ask some questions. We are happy to help out wherever we can and always looking for new volunteers.

Happy new year to our local community. We are open 24/7 and ready to help where needed. It’s been great getting involved in community events and engaging with campers at our local camping hot spots over the last couple of weeks. Cheers for the year and have a great start to 2026.

Been a busy couple of weeks and weekend.

We as firefighters always love the opportunity to participate in hot fire training.
The CFA have some awesome hi tech gear out there for us to make the most of.
Some of Our active members had the opportunity to get our facilitator accreditation on the training props which are in Lakes Entrance at the moment.
This means we can make use of this awesome bit of kit while it’s in our area.

Moving to the weekend. The alpine rally have been in town so we were asked if we could support re fueling of all 75+cars at Nowa Nowa. Awesome day and some great donations to our brigade.

Training is important!!
Especially as we are coming into fire season.

Tonight’s drills were fine tuning some drafting and some foam basics. But nothing quiet like a crown fire attack at full tilt to test the teams skills.

The Wairewa Brigade had a fun Easter at the Nowa Nowa Market.
Captain Koala was doing the rounds and even got a mange check 😃 with Hailey at Bob's Burrow. Got the all clear 👌
Andrew was having heaps of water fun playing games with the big & little kids.
Sausages were sizzling & guess the lolly competition was won by some happy tourists staying at the local Tostaree Cottages.

The Wairewa Fire Brigade held it's National Emergency Medal presentation yesterday. We had some very deserving members receive their awards.
We have an amazing group of volunteers who continually work hard for their community and we are very proud of them.
