Help!
Can anyone help us?!
This page was created back in 2013 and is now known as a “grey account” as it wasn’t created correctly for the organisation. We have grown the page to almost 1000 followers and we will lose everything soon unless someone can help us out to correctly change the admin and ensure it’s not disabled- please let us know what we have to do 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you ☺️

Congratulations to Year 6 Waikerie Lutheran Primary School WLPS student Sarah, who along with her fellow class mates held their “class exhibition” today.
Sarah chose Rotary International for her project and researched by attending meetings, helping out cooking donuts at the markets and working in the opp shop as well as interview Rotarians about what Rotary means.
Sarah also helped raise over $65 at her exhibition by collecting money for End Polio Now ❤️

Over 20 Rotarians came to Sarah’s exhibition tonight to show her our support ❤️ well done Sarah and Waikerie Lutheran Primary School for a wonderful exhibition And from all your new friends at Rotary we can’t wait for you to join the club as a future volunteer and Rotarian!

⭐️⭐️ Appreciation Post ⭐️⭐️

Our Cliff Top Walk is such a sense of pride to the club especially since we’ve planted natives from Fitzy's Natives & Horticultural Services
Due to 🌧 the weeds have taken off and sadly the natives were hidden!

Over the last few days we’ve had some of our members Wendy & Trevor and Bec Burtt who lives near the path chip in to volunteer and pull out weeds but our biggest thanks is for the Cadell Training Centre “Community Work Team” who spent hours helping to remove weeds as well.

You can see the progress they made with the stunning natives taking centre stage!

Fitzy’s Natives is back tomorrow to help plant more natives with our Rotarians. If you do have a spare moment and can help , get in contact with us to find out when our next working bee is!

Guest Speaker at our Wednesday meeting was local magician James Young.

James put together the successful Riverland Cabaret as part of the Adelaide Fringe in 2022.

James is hoping to put together another Riverland Cabaret in 2024 to help showcase local talent including those who have never been on stage and in particular our young members of the community and local students.

The evening concluded with James showing us some magic tricks 🪄 🐇🎩

If any businesses/organisations are interested in helping James put together another successful event for 2024 then please contact him directly or DM us and we can pass details on!

What an amazing two days at the Riverland Field Days! 8 of our members helped direct traffic in the car parks on both days and it was challenging with rain and freezing wind 🥶
The Rotary Club of Berri Inc. at site 407 inside the Field Day had on display a “Shelter Box” to show to the public.

ShelterBox Australia is one of the charities Rotary International support - each ShelterBox teams work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives.

Every disaster is different and so is every community, so time is spent with those affected to make sure the right support is offered.

ShelterBox teams can travel by boat, helicopter or tuk-tuk to get to the families who need support – whatever it takes to get to the people who have lost their homes to disaster.

We aim to have a ShelterBox on display at our next Waikerie Markets on Sunday 2nd October 3-8pm.

Hope to see you there and thanks everyone who called past to say hello to the team at the Field Days!

Congratulations to our neighbours, the Rotary Club of Loxton who have set up the new “Loxton Rotary Satellite Club” focusing on Youth and Disability support with 10 inaugural members.

An incredible achievement and we are so proud of you all.

We look forward to working closely with the newly formed Satellite Club and hope one day to follow in your footsteps by offering this type of club to the Youth of Waikerie.

Well done to all! X

History was made last night as 10 community members in Loxton set up a new Rotary Club to serve their community. The new Loxton Rotary Satellite Club is supported by the established Loxton Rotary Club, but is independent, and has been formed with just a focus on youth well-being and disability support.

Being such a significant event, the Governor of Rotary District 9510 (SA/NT) travelled to Loxton to performed the formalities, and our local Member of Parliament, Tim Whetstone, presented each new member with a Rotary pin and welcome pack. A further half dozen individuals who were not present have also indicated their intention to join.

Watch this space as this younger, energetic and committed group of community-minded people start implementing their great new ideas to make our town and district a better place to live. With the backing of an experienced Rotary Club of 60 years behind them, and the power and support of the Rotary International brand, the future is even brighter for our community.

What a wonderful evening of fellowship and bells!
Over 50 Rotarians and friends gathered in the D’Vine Hall to enjoy a “crockpot” meal made by some of our talented Chefs (members 😉) followed by icecream, caramel slice and apple cake!

Local Vin Dowd and his wife Mary played some well know songs on the Carillon Bells- the only in Australia and all hand made by Vin.

It was a special night enjoyed by all and funds raised will go to Australian Rotary Health and the Heysen Trail Trek that our own Karen will attempt next month in aid of mental health research.

Please check our Instagram and Facebook stories for videos of the carillon bells in action!

What an absolute incredible Guest speaker we had tonight from the Tumbarumba Rotary Club in the Snowy Mountain Region of NSW!

Bruce Wright and his wife Colleen are caravanning around Australia and are also Rotarians and happened to meet by chance some of our members caravanning in WA.

Bruce’s involvement with the Kokoda Trail and raising funds on behalf of his club meant we just had to have him as our guest speaker!

Bruce spoke to our members of his involvement with leading High School Students along the Kokoda Trail for two weeks. An amazing journey of courage, persistence and elation at having completed the trek! We learnt how both the rotary club and students had to raise funds in excess of $80,000 to make this journey possible.

Over 115 Students has completed the Kokoda Trail with Bruce leading the group’s and he’s hopeful since the last trek in 2019 they will start up again in the future.

Congratulations to Bruce, the Rotary Club of Tumbarumba and the High School Students for completing these treks along the Kokoda Trail and you have certainly inspired our club to consider a trek for our Youth Portfolio!
