Waikerie World War 1
We need your Help thankyou!
Around 200 people from the Waikerie district served during World War One. A list of those who served was compiled from 1916 onwards, and an honour board listing most who served is in the Waikerie Institute.
Unfortunately, some were missed. Those listed have their surname and initial/s listed.
We are trying to put given names to the initials. We have been able to do this for many of those who enlisted and find their service number and service records.
However, some remain unknown.
Are you able to help put names to any of the following, and give information on their link to the Waikerie District?
Ahern, J J
Bell, E W
Bird, C,
Burr/Burt, A (Burr on honour roll, Burt in newspaper lists during WW1)
Desmond, J
Donhardt, E A
Dowling, J H or H
Graham, J
Greenslade, J
Hamson, R
Harmon, R
Harford, D
Hughes, R O
Jay, A
Lord, A C
McDonald, R A
McDonald, W A
Noodel/Noodal, C
O’Connell, T
Offler, F
Perry, J
Perry, M
Pope, A F or A E
Reichstein, F or P
Scholz, C or O
Searle, O
Semin, L H
Smith, A
Smith, J
Smith, T
Stewart, F or E
Whearn/Whern J (Whearn on honour board, Whern in newspaper list during WW1)

Please note that these are the details we have, and the surnames and/or initials may not be correct.
If you can identify any of these people and confirm their link to the Waikerie district, it would be much appreciated. Email [email protected]
